Small, family-run hotel with 16 rooms and a long tradition. Restaurant and hotel opened 365 days a year.
Hotel location
The hotel is located at the inner city of the small town of Mauterndorf. Based next to the creek, the city center is only 150 meters away. Enter the local skiing resort in less than 5 minutes. (the free of charge ski taxi stops at the hotel door). Just a short walk down the river, you will find yourself in between crop fields and meadows, which surround the small airfield.

Personal atmosphere in an genuine ambiance, excellent cuisine with traditional and local products, professionalism where it's needed - individual when enjoyable.
Gastronomy in the hotel
Hans, the owner, is also the chef. He gained his experience at Hotels in Obertauern, Salzburg and Swizzerland. Especially his world-tour engagement on the cruiseship MS Sagafjord taught him some tricks and skill you will see and taste.
To guarantee a natural origin of our products we joined the "Kulinarisches Erbe" seal of quality.
Sports, entertainment and pool in the hotel
After a enjoyable day in the nature we recommend our sauna and steam bath, including a fresh wash with the snow on the balcony thereafter. For some social time try the billiard or ping-pong table.
Hotel room/Accommodation
Although the building has seen many cold winters, the rooms have been completely refurbished from the floor to the ceiling. The authentic image of the house was given credit and therefore much attention was turend on using natural materials.

NEW from winter 2011: The "Sonnenbahn" in the skiing resort Grosseck-Speiereck has been set up. Now you can enjoy your ride from the top of the Speiereck peak down to the town of St. Michael overall. Now you will reach the top in about 7 minutes instead of the former 25.

we would gladly return! The furnishings in the dining kitchen, the very good breakfast ( finally a hotel, in which the eggs at its Gusto! Prepare yourself), the friendly care and the comfortable rooms were excellent. The Option half board we can highly recommend, since the value for money is unbeatable!

We have beautiful 6 days spent. Especially the friendly, personal atmosphere has the stay very pleasant made. The service supports this. In the opinion of this house, the historic character appreciated, we liked it, as well as the modern and comfortably furnished rooms. The kitchen is great!

The GH far Gasser than getaway can only be recommended.
rooms, cleanliness and dining did a few very pleasant days sunny Lungau with good value for money enjoyment leave.
nevertheless a few details, which appear to be improved, not to mention stay:
the clothes closet was old and looked beautiful, but for a few days stay too secondly simply too small.
in the bathroom is a lower end stained Plasticshower curtain a three star hotels not worthy.

we would love to go back and enjoyment honest and sincere hospitality in the far gasser. Not decorated and fake, but just piece for piece authentic-that starts with personal phone conversation, continues with the nice and clean rooms and the friendly service and ends at the excellent kitchen from the chef. If you want a peak fine hotel is perhaps not quite right- therefor you will enjoy the atmosphere a long established tavern. Read more
