... the area around the hotel (Sabana Gran de) has a reputation for being dangerous after 9-10pm. Hotel gates close at approx. 9pm, and only guests are allowed in without registering first at reception. No convenient supermarkets close by, only chance to make basic purchases is at Farmatodo. The El Recreo shopping centre is directly connected to the hotel (again, the connecting passageways are closed after 9pm), this has restaurants, boutiques, pharmacy, hairdresser, and a cinema.
