We took part in a 3-week vacation 2 nights in Grano de Oro. In San Jose there are basically not that much to see and we have due to the short stay no experiences with the activities of the hotel made, therefore I have the situation and environment, as well as the leisure facilities not rated. The hotel itself is however a really very great hotel with beautiful Atmosphere and very good service. If I return to San Jose I would certainly take the Grano de Oro. The restaurant in the Grano de Oro should definitely can be visited. Read more

Back to the Grano de Oro: great, individual room, great beds-I have never slept so well in a hotel. Beautiful and functional bathrooms.
Everything in old colonial style.
Prices for Costa Rica-but extremely high value for money. The breakfast could have been included in the price but be, the ten Euros it but also not more fat. The reception is great, the waiters at breakfast, something strange, when you spoke Spanish already almost pushy.

We have stayed twice per a night in the hotel and can only recommend it. You can reserve a dinner in the restaurant, excellent cuisine for real price. In Europe you would pay a fortune for it.
And you can make use of the jacuzzi on the roof terrace, very romantic. Read more

The hotel was only a stopover on the away to our diving cruise to Cocos Iceland. The room was for a night big enough, for a longer holiday we have had problems with our clothes (it was only a very narrow closet-perhaps the other room are better equipped). The waiters, the us at breakfast served, was very unfriendly and got a bit more friendly, when I had a few Spanish gekramt there. The atmosphere in the lobby, and winter garden room is very beautiful and tastefully. We would have liked to stay a few days longer. Read more
