I was the third time in Herald house, and the not without reason. The staff is nice and courteous, the room was small, but clean and with telephone, TV, hair dryer and kettle including coffee and tea facilities. The bathroom was with shower and toilet and also very clean. The service is very good. For a city trip with which one anyway the room in the evening to Hur looks very recommendable. Read more

The hotel is a converted Männerwohnheim. The rooms are very small, the bathroom was tiny, about .1m times 0.5 m (I had a single room). In the shower you couldn't turn around or bend! Breakfast is served in a room which each Ampiente was missing! The breakfast was okay but nothing special! For 1-2 nights but if a budget place to stay in the center of Edinburgh is just right there but the royal mile is only about 1 kilometer walk away! Read more

The hotel is located in a side-street in a former business but not more. Meanwhile, at the edge of the banking district and just about a 15 minute walk from the Edinburgh city center. From the outside the hotel is a typical Granitbau, inside a bit winding and typically British. For a 2 * hotel but absolutely ok. We had a 3 bedroom which is quite large with a very large bathroom. The bathroom was apparently newly renovated and clean. The rooms as well as the carpet was new and furniture from a Swedish store mine. Only the TV had felt Mäusekin... Read more

It is a 2 star hotel in the typical English/Scottish style. The hotel has 45 rooms, in the large number double/twin room. This is an older building; therefore typically British small rooms, narrow corridors, it is a little bit diagonally/crooked and also a bit worn. Some of the rooms seem to be renovated. The doors and windows are and that's why it wasn't very soundproof. The hotel offers full Scottish breakfast, has a small bar, where small (few) snacks. The guests come apparently everywhere. Old British building, so small rooms (but suffi... Read more

The rooms are small, but clean. Other than that we found blood on the bed linen. The sheets were but immediately replaced. The bathroom has a shower and toilet, that directly in front of the entrance into the shower. A bit had to climb as eventually, depending on body. The sink is located next to the bed. The breakfast was okay, there was a buffet. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Big compliment! Bus connection is great. With the line 3 you can help yourself from the airport for £1.20 per person to the hotel. Stop... Read more

The hotel is a good place for parents coming from Norway to visit son at the University - and also a good base for discovering Edinburgh, unknown for us till now, the castels, the restaurants and the shopping area.

very expensive for the class of hotel, rooms felt like converted hostel rooms or old apartments, whole place was cold and unwelcoming and of very poor class, its a real budget hotel with a high price.
