Hotel location
Koyao Island Resort is located in the famous archipelago of Phang Nga Bay near Phuket in southern Thailand.Remote but still accessible, we are surrounded by secluded beaches, rain forests and uninhabited islands in a place where mass tourism and hotels are far away and the original Thai hospitality has free reign.
Our hotel has 23 luxury villas, designed in traditional Thai architectural style, blend graciously into a coconut palm setting. Each villa faces the beach, has its own private garden.
Welcome to Koyao Island Resort - in touch with your original nature.
Gastronomy in the hotel
Our Rim Talay Restaurant serves a mouth-watering spread of signature Island specialties like wild fern salad, green quail curry or mangrove fruits. We have taken the purest Koyao food, famous flavors, plus amazing presentation, and serve it at a very relaxed dining atmosphere. This open-air Restaurant, facing the garden and overlooking the Phang Nga Bay, offers also a great choice of European specialties.
Sea Gypsy’s BBQ
Roughly three centuries ago, a tribe of people fled turmoil in Indonesia for a nomadic life on the ocean. They fished their way up the eastern edge of the Andaman Sea, and by the late 1800′s had established semi-permanent communities on the Phang Nga Bay. Known in English as “sea gypsies”, they are most often referred to by their Thai name of chao leh, literally “people of the sea”.
Sea Gypsys consider eating to be a very important social activity. All people eat together, around one table, sharing food and conversation as one big community. From this, family and friends bonds gained strength.
Social eating is a foundation of healthy societies….and it is very enjoyable to talk with family and friends while eating. This is best done by all guests sitting around one table.
Southern Thai cooking seems to reflect the characteristics of the people, being impetuous and have a spice and zest for life.
Simply sit back and sip a glass of wine. There is no need to order from a menu. Let our waiting staff bring the specialties directly from the coals and put, still sizzling hot onto your plate. You can keep eating till your heart (or tummy) is content.
Koyao Bar
Enjoy light finger food and a tasty selection of Thai dishes, large selection of juices as well as creative cocktails.
Delight in our Afternoon Treats by our Chef with a daily surprise! Overlooking the pool, gardens and beach, this is the ideal spot to take a break from the sun or to take a pre- or post dinner nip.

The koyao Island Resort (Kir) is quiet and right on its own private beach with great view on the sea of tourists hardly frequented island koyao Noi.
