The hotel was on the tourism-side of the city of Trier with a new year's Eve package inclusive VIP tickets for the new year's Eve annually taking run in Trier. Of this overall package( run, 2 times buffet, new year's Eve gala with live music and DJ) left us-and we were not disappointed. Very Central hotel, walking distance to everything. Main street in front of the hotel toward the Porta nigra has not disturbed. Quiet room. Service at breakfast miserable and inattentive. The Mercure-hotel at the Porta nigra a good starting point is for a sightseeing. We had a room in the past four floor with a panoramic view on the nightstand Porta nigra, which showed up in the evening lit particularly impressive. The hotel has a total of 106 room. We had a privilege room, in other words the living room with bottled water, coffee/tea and daily newspaper for free. Two bathrooms with bath amenities and bathrobe VIP. A bedroom with large painted corner on a stairway to the top distance. Air conditioning, be regulated. can the two flat screen available.

There was nothing we did not like about the hotel although I feel that 16 euros per night is a bit expensive for parking and we did not use the restaurant because breakfast was expensive, although it seems to be the going rate for the area.
