The hotel in general
Novotel Amsterdam City is undergoing a true metamorphosis. All 610 rooms have been renovated and now the focus lies on transforming the rest of the hotel.
New function rooms are being added for congresses, events and meetings for up to 1000 delegates. The existing restaurant and bar facilities make way for a modern catering area to satisfy all tastes and occasions, ranging from formal to informal dining in small or large groups. Renewed fitness facilities and ultra-luxurious wellness area, featuring aromatherapy showers and reclining chairs, are being added.
As a result of the metamorphosis Novotel Amsterdam City is the only 4-star hotel in the area able to offer a group of 450 delegates bedroom, dinning and meeting facilities on one location.
To minimize any inconvenience for our guests, the renovation of the hotel is being executed in two phases. The first phase, which is currently completed, includes the replacement of the hotel’s façade, the build of the congress centre and the refurbishment of the reception and lobby area. The second phase, that has already started, consists of the expansion of the restaurant and bar area, the creation of a wellness area and the addition of a light effect to the hotel’s exterior.
The new individual reception counters offer a high level of personal service. Comfortable lounges allow guests to meet-and-greet or just sit down and relax. There is also an IMac corner outfitted with four computers stations and a temporary restaurant. This restaurant is opened daily from 6 AM to 12 PM and offers dining possibilities from every cuisine and for every taste.

Sports, entertainment and pool in the hotel
At the beginning of 2010 Novotel Amsterdam City offers outstanding fitness and wellness facilities.
For a great work-out our guests have a fitness centre at their disposal. Outfitted with the most recent equipment, flat screen TV and air conditioning this centre is the best way to stay in shape while away from home.
In addition to all mentioned facilities, Novotel Amsterdam City has a Wellness area. Adjacent to the fitness room, the wellness area has separate quarters for male and female, both including a steam room, sauna and high power body-jet aroma showers. There is also a relaxation room with heated lounges.

The hotel offers 610 so called Novation rooms, characterized by their contemporary design, with an extra long bed (2.10m) with duvet, a fully equipped bathroom, a mobile desk with large working space and a comfortable sofa. Actually the hotel was altogether good. The entrance area and the restaurant are mega trendy. The rooms were okay. Large shortcoming was the cleanliness. We had two rooms and in both we had several things to complain about. With us in the room it was dusty, we had leftovers from our' previous tenants' on the night tables, hair in the bathroom and the flush activated, you should not exactly on the button look...

this hotel is really nothing negative to say about it, except for the price. But unfortunately, in this respect, the agreement hotels in Amsterdam. The carpet in the room looked, as if it had not been cleaned for years. When we arrived in the bathroom/toilet was a lot of hair from the previous guest to find. the hotel itself (Rooms, restaurant) is pleasant, but when checking out we were confronted, US 100 euros longer calculate wants, as on our invoice was.
