landscape, has preserved the Tower of Homage, the belfry-sacristy, and the section converted into an Aragonese Palace in the 18th Century. The interior features gothic murals, a Plateresque sepulchre

The hotel 'Parador de Alcañiz' is in a former monastery Calatrava-Teutonic knights castle and is perched on a hill in the centre with wonderful views of the city and the surrounding area. The entrance is through some narrow streets, is however well signposted and it has sufficient parking spaces directly in front of the entrance. Our room was on the top floor and it was equipped with two comfortable beds, places to sit and work desk. Bathroom/toilet well maintained and very clean.
