The hotel is not modern as described on the website.
But still not bad. I can not say, that the hotel came into the years. My room was not too old, as well as the hotel itself. Front desk was always very friendly, as well as the staff in the restaurant. Usually the food is Brazil no matter where you go, perfect! However, what I had ordered room service, the beach was simply fabulous and incredibly expensive. So room service is not recommended. We were there in April for 2 nights. Altogether the hotel pleased us, however it was noticeable that it was older. Nevertheless everything there was very clean and there were no drawbacks.
The rooms were clean, however with carpet and somewhat small for the price. Otherwise the rooms were however completely fine and there was also nothing missing.
The staff was all very competent and friendly. At the reception English and also a little German were spoken. The rooms were cleaned daily.

Definitely not a showcase hotel for the Pestana chain- in fact a bit of an embarrassment because of the bedrooms- It has a great position on Copocabana beach and could, when refurbished, turn itself into a great hotel- and there aren`t many of them in Rio!

The suite was the most amazing I have seen with two doors to a huge balcony where you can have your morning coffee overseeing Copacabana beach.

Even though it has a good location, it is NOT worth the stained bed sheets, crawling insects on the bed, concierge that cancels your tour after you notify concierge that you are waiting in the lobby, AND A HUGE COCKROACH surprise when you turn on the faucet to take a shower.

The pool on the top floor was a perfect size for floating around with plenty of wooden lounge chairs, an outdoor shower for cooling off, AMAZING views, and great service (fresh complimentary fruit served pool side).

Besides being a nice hotel in a good location (Copacabana is not the best but is still a good location in Rio) with a nice staff (mainly in the restaurant), this hotel asks for an URGENT renovation, mainly when you consider that it is a Pestana brand hotel and you´re charged in US$ 1,100 for a 3 days stay. - in March 10
