We were the second time at the Pinewood and again completely satisfied. It was nothing to complain again, quite the opposite. It is now also dinner at the pool (theme-Mongolian night) the selection of food was varied, also at breakfast. Sunday live music at the bar. The majority of the Staffs we knew from the previous year and also we were detected again, even in particular. The is the advantage of this rather small area. The only partly didn't bother what us, was the start and the noise from the ultralight aircraft land sports center. This ... Read more

  • excellent hotel
    • in July 10
Internet access is free by both WiFi and available desktop machines although not broadband.
    • in April 10
Other pluses were long walks on the nearly deserted beach, using a small but well equipped gym and free internet access.
    • in March 10
There was also free internet access near reception and a large TV in the lounge for those who want live Premiership football I would rate the food as good rather than excellent and there was plenty of variety to choose from.
    • in September 09
There are no newspapers for sale but there is a TV with Skynews and free internet access so that was nice.

Overall this room was clean – the most important thing of all.
    • in September 10
We were in a deluxe room, on a half-board basis, and wondered if the chefs were so busy with the "suite" guests that this was why the food in the only restaurant often tasted reheated after having been left for hours before.
    • in July 10
We didn't go for a deluxe room but if you get the opportunity I hear this is well worth it with your own personal chef on hand.

We stayed in one of the suites, which gave us a large airy room with sleeping and sitting areas, as well as a terrace from which it was delightful to watch the colobus and sykes’ monkeys – But beware, don’t leave your door open or the latter will get in and trash your room, The greatest advantage of the suite though, was that you had your own personal chef, using a small attached kitchen, In the morning we chose from a menu of starters, about 80 main dishes and desserts and stated at what time we wished to eat.
    • in September 09
We had a personal chef who we used only once but we definately loved the food he cooked for us, it just seemed a bit strange having dinner on a patio looking onto a tree (we had a garden view room, with not much view!

Finally last comment on Pinewood - this is a very quiet and unique resort, with very little to do but relax and eat - there is nothing there for children so very few families stay but the beach is lovely and the sea warm - if your looking for a laid back time Pinewood is the place to go.

If food poisoning was the cause I think the number of guests affected would far exceed 4 or 5, particularly if the cause was a ‘dodgy salad’ as salads are a popular feature on the menu, eaten by many.
