We had room 26 on the top floor. The room was newly renovated and big enough. Was equipped it with flat screen TV, safe, tea/coffee making facilities. It was no closet, only a possibility. The bathroom was very small with shower.
The transport links are very good. From the airport with the Airlink 100 and the Haymarket off. 3.50 pounds one way. The dirty, gray façade of the Piries hotel makes even with brilliant sunshine first no inviting impression - however in Edinburgh all houses from Gregorian and Victorian-era similar unappealing. And as it in this very old town only a few newer houses, relativized this impression quickly. - The hotel itself is a typical tourist hotel for travellers, the relatively cheap want to stay for a short city break.
