I and my girlfriend for a short city break with excursions to the Highlands flew into Edinburgh. We have ourselves after a long search and research because of of the price-- proportion and the location of the point hotel and stayed there for 5 nights spent.
from the outside the hotel made initially an excellent impression, in the typical style of the old town with an modern, glazed part of the conference center. Medium sized hotel with five floors and about 130 rooms. Newly styled lobby and restaurant area, which was very modern decor, the rooms deviate from the style and are functional. Komplettverpflegung at the hotel is situated in the restaurant. Guests of different nationalities on-site, with an age structure was very mixed.

Lobby and front desk make a very good character. However, the rooms are old and worn and did nothing to do with the rooms, the you on the hotel's website. Therefore, it makes you feel ripped off. In particular the bathroom is very old and functioning of the shower to the central Europeans not immediately. Location across from castle is brilliant. Read more

So we are more than disappointed with this hotel. The location within Edinburgh is good, it is easy to reach, were missing parking, public parking fee so you need to leave your car. The staff at the front desk are ours did not help, but that it is just around the corner is a budget parking garage and lead one to a very emulating energy- parking. Our Scotland round trip we started with 3 days Edinburgh. This was the only hotel we booked in advance. To the modern, chic first impression of the hotel entrance followed the disappointment of the room. We stay very much business and pleasure trip to hotels the Mercure group.
