Our time as a family at Chalet Portillo was unforgettable. As Canadians and Vancouverites, we are already accustomed to a vast playground, and it is hard to beat. However, the people at Chalet Portillo perfectly combined their winter wonderland with old world hospitality to make it something altogether different and distinct. The rooms were large and nicely decorated, but no bathrobe (only for a fee!), no mini bar, no Kleenex towels in the room! Breakfast buffet is very inconvenient: not even plates and forks on the table, you have to get from the buffet. You have to cook eggs, didn't work well, because the device did not work very well and the eggs because of the altitude much longer than in the plains need. We felt totally comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and varied, especially the dinner menu of the best quality. The SPA (swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, etc.) left nothing to be desired-took some getting used to only, that the Italian guests in the bathing suit to the sauna or entered.
