My sister and I (52+58 J) booked this hotel because of its proximity to "old town" and the selected eastwards. The beautiful garden, the large pool area and great views of the city we liked it very much. As the next bus stop is only about 15 m away, the hillside location didn't bother us. We had an apartment with a balcony and sea view booked without catering, because we wanted to stay our walking tours have a time limit. The service was functional, adequate and clean (since there was no coffee maker, we had to buy a upper part). Read more

... in a typical residential area the locals in Funchal halbhöhenlage overlooking the entire old town as well as the harbor and the sea.
Above the area was large school with sports court. Shopping possibilities for the daily. Need there is equal in the proximity. The Promenade can be reached either on foot or by bus, the bus stop is right next to the area there. But the roads are partly very steep and narrow.

Madeira with the scooter - highly recommended, however you should at least a select 100pcs scooter (because sometimes extreme hills + very twisty), there is also take advantage in Funchal not very many offers for scooter. Front desk was very helpful with the Rollersuche. In the mountains around this time of year already very cold, on the coast still nice for swimming.
