Hotel Sandman Downtown

We selected this hotel as a first port of call for acclimatization before our cruise only, because the prices in the last year used the hotel on the waterfront in the meantime simply ' almost priceless 'were! This hotel is a box from the achzigern-it is dark, dark and not appealing. The only good thing is the location-From here you can quickly get everywhere! Location is quite Central. Within walking distance of all the sehenswürtigkeiten in the city center. We had booked at the beginning and end of the room. The decor in the second room was better than the first room. However, the bathroom the door to the toilet-cistern leaky, so that a puddle on the floor, the maids could have been more to see! We were in a smaller North Tower. From the outside the hotel looks like a concrete block from the 60's. The room was but OK, with microwave and refrigerator, unfortunately no safe. Balcony was also there, but unusable because to small. The volume increase was something, but surely nothing unexpected in a city hotel. Directly in front of the door were a ice machine and a drink machine. From time to time times the have been something louder noises. Much louder however was the CBC building on the other roadside, why also always (generators?!). ... Read more

Is a very large hotel, which in north and south sphere is divided into. It is modern, very centrally located (near the stadium) and also clean. Breakfast is not provided in the hotel itself, but in the attached restaurant. Most guests stay only a few days, because they make a round trip. The service is very friendly and helpful.
