Nice hotel with massive balcony. Saturday evenings however very noisy. Breakfast very good.
Restaurant bushfire close to the hotel great. Delicious and something completely different.
Definitely a trip to Kuranda make, beautiful drive by train in a beautiful town.
Butterfly house highly recommendable.
Barrier reef disappointing, one must be with the helicopter flies it at all to see.

We stayed for five nights in this hotel, and have explored on foot from here from the whole surrounding area. The hotel is located right next to the promenade and the lagoon. At the check in we were upgraded to an executive room, which we after studying the two variants then also taken. At the executive room then breakfast and access to the Executive lounge (during the day free drinks and excellent Canapees 17-19 o'clock) included in the price. The hotel has gotten old. The room decor was a bit shabby. Bad tv reception and noise drive from the hallway into our room at night. Leftovers of other people in the hallway days around. The location of the hotel on the marina in Cairns is, especially if you get a room with a view of the water, very good. Read more

We are about 1 week at the Shangri la Cairns. Was one of the best hotels on our whistle stop tour. Great clean room, large bathroom with bathtub and shower, view from the balcony of the sea. Pool was very large and nicely with Jacuzzi. Breakfast was okay, but beware the birds on the terrace, the flies time on the table and steal the fried eggs from plates if you are not careful.
In the immediate vicinity good opportunities for shopping, lots of nice restaurants. Food very expensive, from Euro 50 for two people. We highly recommend the snorke... Read more
