We stayed in 1 week Spießberghaus shortly after New Year. It was absolutely fantastic, the landscape, the winter conditions, staff and parking lot, and the room ... A great view we had never on holiday! We are still completely thrilled. The prices were absolutely justified, for our conditions even cheap. Given the fact that this hotel really in the middle of a forest away from the city's main drag is, you can be surprised as the whole organization there is working at all. Lovely quiet hotel with nice rooms, intimate restaurant and exquisite cuisine ( Venison with chantrelle mushrooms! ) Ideal location near the Rennsteiges, cross-country skiing trails right on the house, alpine skiing on the large Inselsberg. If you're looking for peace and quiet - away from the hustle, entertainment and other Bespassungsmaschinerie is the place to be. We can recommend the hotel very much. It is very good for business travelers. The Rennsteig is about 15 minutes walk. We were disappointed by the associated restaurant unless you game orders. Wild tasted excellent. Everything else is mediocre. The salads are not great. The advance of US personnel was a joke for the price. The icing on the ice cream tasted mubbelig. A Shame! Read more
