The hotel in general
"The Oasis" is a intimate, pretty, comfortable hotel for divers and for those seeking tranquillity. It is situated on a long beach just north of Marsa Alam. The resort captivates with it’s unique architecture, it’s intimate ambient and it’s tranquillity. At the moment, it consists of 49 chalets arranged around the main building in the form of a Bedouin village with small alleyways and winding steps of fossilized coral stone.

The especially beautiful ambient conjured up by the dimmed floor lighting captivates the guests as they enter the reception area. And the view of the Red Sea from the terrace, with the whole of this lovely resort at your feet is unforgettable.



Hotel location
"The Oasis" is situated in South Egypt, about 20km north of the small village of Marsa Alam. It lies directly on the coast of the Red Sea, on a long, sweeping beach. This oasis of tranquillity is embedded in very spacious grounds, for enough from the road so as not to be disturb by the noise from air traffic.

Service at the hotel
Transfer

The resort is at a distance of about 25 minutes drive away from the international airport Marsa Alam (about 40km to the south). The international airport Hurghada lies 270 km to the north of "The Oasis". The transfer takes around 3 hours on roads along the beautiful coast of the Red Sea and which, meanwhile, are now in good condition.

If you are arriving form a boat safari we would be happy to arrange the transfer from/to Port Ghalib or other harbours.

Leisure facilities

A large pool with a breathtaking view of the Red Sea in one of the hotel many features.
Sun loungers with large sun shades offer shady spots for relaxation.

Wellness

Apart from massages further special relaxation programs as well as reflexology are offered.

We will introduce you to the naturals wonders of this desert, send you on a journey through the eventful history of the region and we will show you the stars! All you could wish for – on foot, on camels and/or by jeep.



Gastronomy in the hotel
The great quality of the meals in "The Oasis" and the special concept of the resort are worth mentioning. Early in the morning the air is filled with the wonderful scent of freshly baked bread. Breakfast and evening meal are served as elaborate buffets. In addition a large variety of "a-la-Carte” meals are always available in the restaurant.

Besides the well-filled sandwiches made with sun-bread, fancy salads with, for example, camel goulash are just some of the culinary specialities available.

Whether you prefer vegetarian, fish or meat dishes, in "The Oasis" there are great meals for all tastes!


Sports, entertainment and pool in the hotel
Diving Centre

The „THE OASIS DIVING CENTER“ is as well as the hotel “The Oasis” a joint project of Werner Lau and Sinai Divers. Due to this cooperation a maximum amount of service, professionalism and joy of diving can be offered.

The diving centre, professionally run by Andrea Damaschun und Thilo Posch situated directly in the hotel of "The Oasis", 20km north of Marsa Alam.

With their team of multilingual diving instructors and dive masters they offer all levels of instruction according to SSI, Barakuda (CMAS) and PADI guidelines.

Equipment

The new diving centre is equipped especially to cover the requirements and wishes of the divers. Even in times of high demand we guarantee enough hire equipment for everyone.

The centre is equipped with at least the following equipment:

30 Jackets (Scubapro)
30 Regulators with octopus, pressure gauge and inflator
30 sets of mask, snorkel and fins
50 wetsuits (all 5mm thick)
10 diving computers (compressed air/nitrox)
10 underwater torches

For the efficient organisation of the diving we have 100 12l aluminium tanks (DIN + INT) filled from two compressors available. For guests with equipment problems, our well stocked workshop is available if needed, supported by the advice from our staff.

It goes without saying, that nitrox is also available here without charge!




Hotel room/Accommodation
The 49 spacious and individually decorated chalets available at the moment are built with natural building materials in Nubian style with much attention spend on details.

Each of these chalets is unique with an individual floor plan and varying stylish elements and colours influence the very tastefully decorated rooms.

Also there is an unrestricted and breathtaking view of the sea from the terrace of every chalet!

All chalets consist of a main room, a spacious bathroom with shower (except for Chalet 23 "the red one", which has a bath with a splendid view of the sea) and toilet, water heated by solar power and several 220 volt plugs.

The rooms are kept cool due to the natural building style of the Nubians. Ceiling fans and air condition have also been installed to supply additional cool air during warmer nights.

A mini bar is also supplied in all chalets.

Rooms are available with either single or double beds (respectively two separate single beds – "twin").
