Koh Pha-Ngan is situated in the Southern Gulf of Thailand, 80km from Suratthani, the mainland district centre. Surat Thani is one of the main transport hubs in the south of Thailand.
From here a host of destinations can be reached by boat, bus, train and even plane from Suratthani’s Airport; which is slightly cheaper to fly to and from than Koh Samui and is served by Thai Airways. The nearby Island of Koh Samui has an international airport that receives flights from all over Thailand and Asia. Koh Phangan is a 16km boat journey from Koh Samui with ferries all day.
There are numerous agents for the regions premiere short-haul airline, Bangkok Airways; who are the owners of Koh Samui Airport, the nearest to Ko Pangan, making around twenty return flights to Koh Samui from Bangkok everyday,
All buses and trains stop in Suratthani town centre, where you will be provided with a connecting bus to the appropriate ferry pier enabling you to continue your over-sea journey to Koh Phan-nghan, approximately three and a half hours away. The State Railway of Thailand operate an efficient rail service down from Bangkok to Surratthani and up from Had Yai in the deep south of Thailand. Overnight sleeper trains are the best way to go, with clean and secure carriages, waiter service and clean crisp bedding.

In the mid-1980s, a group of tourists found that the best place to enjoy the full moon was a crescent-shaped beach on a small island off the coast of Thailand - Haad Rin Beach on Koh Phangan.
They held the first all-night party to appreciate the full moon. Since then the island has become one of South East Asia's biggest party spots. The fun begins as the moon makes its first appearance over the sea. Small tables are lined up in front of the bars on the beach, lit by lamps and burning torches. Many of the sound systems that have been setting up in the preceding days turn on their power and before long the beach has exploded into a dancing frenzy, with visiting international DJs taking their turn on the decks.

The concerned complex is very good for relaxing and relax. With dark you get a fantastic concert from Urwaldgeräuschen. The whole works much more than that the location on a mountain a grandiose Aussichtet in almost all directions offers. The has one of the very well maintained pool exactly like of the restaurant. Is mandatory however the hire rollers or motorcycle at the area to explore. The staff are exceptionally friendly. Read more

It is next to a magnificent view, attractive, large and clean rooms, above average friendly and helpful staff and a very recommendable restaurant (thai and international cuisine). It was our first Thailand vacation, we were very pleasant surprised as friendly, relaxed and easy handling vacations took place, so a bit relaxed in the Caribbean in this kind of never happened. In February 2012 we stayed at this resort and had a bungalow with outdoor bath tub. The view from the balcony and from the bath tub was awesome. The staff were very friendly and the food in the hotel's own restaurant was perfect good.
To the beach it was about 2a 3 kilometer, but with a general scooter-which no-one here definitely need-a Katzenspurng.
The island itself is definitely recommendable.
