Small hotel in the middle of the very loud and zugepflasterten hotel zone of Funchal. The garden is gorgeous! Pool was small, but for cooling off and swimming strokes enough for a couple. From the outside of the hotel garden you can't see, as the garden with a wall and completely surrounded by trees. Very successful laid out! We stayed in the main building and we had a room with a terrace, so you sit in the garden. 3 Villas in lovely garden, junior suite in an old substance large and comfortable, with a large balcony and bathroom (#34 ). Island in the busy Funchal, noise barely tolerable. Swimming pool is adequate, as well as sitting space. Clean, good basic breakfast, nice service, mainly British guests. Kinda like home! Good base for hikes for easy access to bus service. point for nice, others are the, in the last few years to recommend developing concrete, the islands some local ( especially Funchal)destroyed.! There is no air conditioning. We went in October and it was hard to sleep. There is no sound indsulation above or to either side, we heard heated arguments and footsteps above sometimes in the early hours. The staff are friendly and do their best with what they have got.
