The **** hotel Wengener Hof is a well maintained first-class hotel with excellent views. Generously furnished rooms with all comforts. Creative cuisine and an exceptional selection of Bordeaux wines.
Hotel location
The Wengener Hof occupies the best location in Wengen. It stands in its own woods and magnificent, extensive gardens which are a mass of blossom in summer, and has as incomparable view of the Jungfrau massif, the Breithorn chain and the whole Lauterbrunnen Valley. Though it is just a few steps from the village centre, the hotel is absolutely quiet at all times of the day and night. And Wengen is virtually traffic free. The village centre and Männlichen cablecar is just 3 minutes, and the railway station 5 minutes walk away on virtually level ground. Because of its excellent location, pleasant scale (65 beds) and comforts (4 stars), the Wengener Hof has for many years provided individual hospitality.

The Wengener Hof is one of the most venerable hotels in the world-famous Summer and Winter resort of Wengen. It was built just before the turn of the century as a small boarding house and was always extremely popular with visitors to Wengen because every effort was made to keep up with modern comforts and to provide a discerning clientele with a consistently high standard of service, accommodation and cuisine. To this day, the Wengener Hof's policy is to offer its holiday guests a comfortable yet elegant "home from home" and not to slavishly follow the latest fashion trends in the hotel.

In the morning you can enjoy our various breakfast buffet. In the evening we serve a tasty, varied dinner There is a choice of three main courses (one of them vegetarian). On Sunday evenings, we provide a 5-course gala dinner, while we ensure variety by serving a buffet mid-week.

I was in summer 2011 times in this hotel. This time I had a room with a balcony on the southern side, which pleased me very much. The whole staff are very friendly and they are known as those who travel alone was very good. I was certainly not for the last time there. With a renewed stay I would take a room on the south side. The hotel and the surroundings offer a fabulous get away for any age group.
The staff are always friendly and helpfull and nothing is too much trouble.
Excellent views from the front of the hotel across the Lauterbrunnen valley and beyond.
The hotel is in an ideal location to marvel at the highest mountian in Europe ie the Jungfrau which you can visit daily. this makes it a great day out as the views are truely spectacular especially when the sun is out glistening on the snow.

This hotel is set in lovely gardens just minutes from the village centre. Rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. Those with south facing balconies (large) enjoy stunning views of mountains and Lauterbrunnen valley. The many repeat visitors at this time of year (average age older than in winter) are testimony to the hotel's consistently high standards. ... It is a long train ride from the nearest international airport.
The Wengener hof does not provide much of this. It has a small library and a comfortable lounge. Since we were looking for a comfortable base to explore the area, and also a place to rest and relax, we had no problem with this.... Read more

If you are a TV fan then the English speaking TV channels are limited to news channels so you may be disappointed, but I would be surprised if many went there to watch TV, It's an Alpine town in Switzerland It is located only a few minutes walk away from the main street, and is very quiet at night even with the windows fully open.
