After some business stays in the Kempinski in Sofia I can give him the following recommendations: ask for a renovated hotel rooms, old rooms are in no way our expectations. The food in the hotel is very expensive but well, in the immediate vicinity (up to 20 minutes walk), there are excellent restaurants in which one can have excellent food significantly lower prices. If you for about 50 euros/night the standard of a German 5 star hotels expected might be disappointed. For Eastern European standards it really is a great hotel. Room on the 17th floor with a view over the city, huge garden with bars and restaurants, rates as to D-Mark, particularly outside the hotels - what more could you ask for?
