Hotel location
The MEININGER Hotel Vienna Downtown Franz is located in Leopoldstadt, Vienna’s second district, between the Augarten Park and the Danube Canal. A relaxed walk through the small alleys down to the Danube soon takes you to the famous ring road round Vienna's Old Town. St. Stephen’s Cathedral and numerous other points of interest in the town centre are easily reached on foot. Schönbrunn and Belvedere Palace are not far, either, thanks to good public transport links. The underground station Schottenring is close to the hotel: from here you can catch the U2, the U4, trams 1, 2 and 31 and no fewer than 9 bus lines. And for those who don’t like to wander far off: take a stroll through lively Leopoldstadt, past uncountable restaurants, the Karmeliter Market with its varied stalls and past the Vienna Criminal Museum to the Ferris wheel in the Prater. Your reward: an incomparable view of Vienna from above.

The hotel is newly built and IKEA style very modern equipped... However the rooms a bit on the small side... It remains only a small, narrow path to the bed. The cleanness left a lot to be desired... if you want a very inexpensive, centrally located hotel of a different kind for a short city trip was exactly right here. There was everything we needed, clean and new. In the newly opened hotel young and old. The location is very good and the service was exceptional. Transport ideal. The rooms are simple but perfectly and very convenient for a short stay equipped. The newly constructed hotel falls in the Rembrandtstraße immediately on, as it so quite the only thing new and jewelry building in this street is.
Our room (1 double bed, 1 bunk bed) was located on the rear of the building and was clean and peaceful. In the room are TV ( flat screen) and telephone, in the bathroom a hair dryer available.
