The Mercure-hotel is a good middle class hotel with high standard. The big plus is the great location in the historic centre of Erfurt, so that all important sights easy to reach on foot are. The car you need not, however, the parking fees were quite high(12 euros per day). The rooms are clean and comfortable equipped, u. The old town (anger, a few square, from, fish market) is really easy to reach and right across the city to the Duomo square with the large Christmas market went quite quickly from the hotel. The old town offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the Thuringian cuisine. And at very reasonable prices. We had a quiet room to the inner courtyard. The hotel was fully occupied, and the parking spaces tight. We liked it, because you are right in the old town, and don't need a car at all. We had a double room facing the street where it at night, when lots of restaurants close, even can get very noisy. If you should need room for peace inner courtyard book.
