Queue at dinner and breakfast is not 5 *! Great room but with drain-odor! Annoying document sign every consumption partly uninteresting Staff-waiter: long waiting for GetränkeJe after accommodation in the huge area very long way from the room to the restoration (15 minutes to) feedback is too big and too loud! When fully booked to small capacity with pool and restaurant! Measly selection of drinks in the all-inclusive Paggage! Read more

Hotel area was very nice, large, clean and the staff was very friendly. Food and drinks were very good. Each time would fly there again for a week to relax and recharge your batteries, thanks to the peace in the plant itself. Read more

A very nice, spacious and clean hotel complex, which offers something for every taste. Whether wellness, sport or just chill out-for every taste something dabie. Be careful with 'best price posting'!-it will be allocated to elderly, non-renovated room on the edge of the hotel, not more than 3-star-standard met! Read more

We have a wonderful week in a very well-kept house is facing. I had my scooter and could easily get everywhere, even on the beach (very window surface). The willingness to help of the staff was exemplary. The food in the three la carte restaurants was extremely good and you can tell the international stamp of the group. The buffet restaurant we primarily for breakfast used (great sweet food selection). The evening à la carte however. Drawbacks of the habits of the serving the staff make (for example, double-glass for those red wine, clearing... Read more

Excellent hotel, staff, food, wonderful location Pass the most difficult test really and glad i can thoroughly recommend it to others The hotel is beautiful in the manicured El Gouna area Staff, food, location is wonderful The canals that run through the resort mean that you have water front rooms in several locations Beach is very shallow and ideal for kids Large resort means that you can effectively go to a different beach everyday Plenty of things do and specialised in kite-surfing with school etc Also Diving Centre The rooms were enormous in size - probably around 30m2 and a huge bathroom Ideal for family as you can easily sleep 4 in these rooms Moments of hospitality excellence : Once i forgot the do not disturb sign on the door of my room Returning back housekeeping has quite rightly not disturbed and had not fixed my room In 4 minutes from arrival to the room my phone rang asking politely if i wanted them to make up my room then at 20:00 in the evening Well done housekeeping !

I wouldn't return to this resort or El Gouna as I think there are nicer Red Sea resorts, but if you just want a relaxing holiday to sunbathe and relax by the pool then you might find this ideal.

We were told this would be the case for 2010 but having now booked and requested a specific location were told; and I quote: "The upgrade to renovated room which due to limited amount are under separate category at the moment, substitutes EUR 10 per person per night. - in January 10

Our room in Cluster 1 was unfortunately old, the bed hard and the air conditioning was soooooo loud.

The comforters were yucky and the shower grout had black streaks which I assumed was mold; the fixtures were nasty; the beds were rock hard.

We just returned from a week of holiday in the Mövenpick El Gouna resort and I would highly recommend both El Gouna and the Mövenpick hotel for travellers who want to enjoy the Egyptian sunny weather, clean and spacious pool areas, reasonable clay tennis courts, very friendly service as well as a high standard of cleaning and food. - in January 10
All in all, this was a very good vacation: non-stop sun, warm days, no humidity, clear water, great scuba diving and snorkeling, friendly service and beautiful surroundings.

The chefs and staff here could hold their own at any venue, even the 'mass catering' stuff was really good, plenty of fresh food every day and once again really, really great service staff. - in April 10
We ate at Il Limone in the evening twice and both times the food and service was great (mains and a bottle of Egyptian red wine, cost approx £400 EP (c£50). - in October 09
The location of this hotel is fabulous and we found a great bar Downtown (called Dunes) where the people and service were great, and decent drinks could be purchased at sensible prices.

Basically if you want to go somewhere where its hot quiet and or want to do watersports the movenpick is for you, i was reluctant to write this as you dont want everyone to know about it, its fabulous hotel (better when fully renovated) location is spot on staff are great i cant say anymore we love and want to go back in September but for some reason the tour operators have really shot the prices up! - in March 10

- in March 10
The staff are so friendly and accomodating and will go out of thier way to make your holiday extra special, they cant do enough for you, the rooms are very spacious and clean and housekeeping do a fantastic job each day, Each time I stay I request my 'usual room' in Cluster 7 as it has beautiful views of the Red Sea and the Lagoons so its lovely to sit on the balcony at the end of the day and wach the sun go down and its only a minute walk from the beach and Lagoon pool, the beach at the hotel is lovely and swimming in the Lagoon is so relaxing before enjoying a refreshing drink in the pool bar, the weather is always fantastic, I tend to visit in March and October but have visited in June too which was a little too hot (40 deg).
- in March 10

- in January 10
One catch, on half board, is that, whilst the excellent buffet meal is costed at LE (Egyptian pounds)200, they only allow LE 60 if you want to visit one of the other excellent a la carte restaurants on site or in the exchange scheme in town. - in March 10
Of the other restaurants on site, the El Sayadin offered a great a la carte dining menu with superb service and wonderful moonlight views over the Red Sea.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the food for breakfast was excellent. - in March 10
The hotel itself serves an excellent breakfast but for dinner & drinks head to Downtown where everything is so much cheaper, they have some great restaurants (Jobo's, KiKi's, Elephant Thai or even Boxers Bar for your traditional English), are great places to have a few drinks too - Tambel Irish Pub is a great place to spend your evening, friendly atmosphere with good music your guaranteed a good night or head to Palma for some Karaoke and Shisha, wherever you find youself there's no doubt you'll have a fabulous evening, the locals are the kindest friendliest people I have ever met and its so safe, I have met so many good friends in El Gouna and really do class it as my second home.
