During our island hopping in French Polynesia, we are also the Pension Tuanake. It is a small family run guest house with a few bungalows were located directly on the beach. But beware it is not sandy beach, but you find yourself in the middle of coral. The family is very nice. We had booked half-board. If we had we were hungry at lunch by the family always drove to the restaurant or they cooked us as well as water for our Instantsuppen. The bungalows were rather functional but with for FRANZ. Pension Tuanake in Rangiroa was great. I loved the little huts with the old fashioned Pandanus roofs. The room was very very clean and furnished simple but clear and tasteful. The location among the coconut trees was great! Vatea the owner was very very friendly without being too close. The dinners he cooked for the guests were georgeous! Better than in most of the restaurants I have seen and much better than in the 5 star Intercontinental Bora Bora were I stayed for my last week.
