The hotel in general
A special bed and breakfast in the touristic and shopping heart of Naples, close to the historic places, the museums,the universities, just in front of the Congress Centre of via Partenope.
The Platamon b&b is in via Chiatamone 55 one step from the seaside,with a view of the bay of Naples and the Vesuvius,and very near to Piazza Plebiscito, the door to the storical centre UNESCO heritage and Piazza De Martiri (only triangolar square of Naples) an area which by day is the city centre and by night the fashionable movida rich of typical restaurants and "pizzerie".
From the Platamon bedbreakfast in five minutes you can reach the San Carlo theatre, the main Public Garden,the harbours for the islands of Capri, Ischia, Procida and the coasts of Sorrento and Positano.
We are also close to all public transports (buses, metro, taxi etc..)
Platamon is an happy combination of lively surroundings in a quiet household.

Curiosity
The name of the street, "Chiatamone", comes from the greek Platamon which means wide beach. It was famous for its many caves which are now small shops or garages .In the Roman times they were used as cisterns and fishponds.

Where we are
From the Highway take the "Tangenziale" and leave it at Fuorigrotta exit, then you proceed to Mergellina, via Caracciolo, via Partenope until you arrive in via Santa Lucia where you turn left at the first crossing .

From the train station take the metro line n° 2 for Pozzuoli getting off at "Piazza Amedeo" and then it is a fifteen minutes walk (one KM).

From the two harbours of Mergellina and Beverello (Porta di Massa) it takes a few minutes by buses (one KM) .

From the Capodichino airport there is a frequent and convenient bus transfer "Alibus" which final stop is at ten minutes walk from us (one KM).

Gastronomy in the hotel
The continental breakfast offers a choice of coffe, tea, infusions, orange juice, croissants, bread, cereals, biscuits, butter and jam. On request we can cook eggs and bacon.


Hotel room/Accommodation
The rooms of the bed and breakfast Platamon are large ones with inner bathroom, comfortable, colourful, with air conditioning, central heating, and digital TV. They are all doubles (matrimonial bed) with the possibility to add a third or fourth bed. One of the rooms also has a furnisched kitchen.
