With strong wind No snorkeling in the sea. In the two week in the restaurant too big. Eat on the left hand side and the right to be offered, to reduce waiting times. Read more

Firstly i would like to say that this is the 5th egypt holiday we have had in 4years,twice to sharm, taba & makadi bay so i feel that i can judge a egypt holiday as have something to compare this hotel with, i feel that it is thomson that has got the rating wrong as parts of the hotel are lovely, rooms especially are very roomy, clean &comfortable with excellent air con,the reception area is spacious & comfortable, bar & terrace well kept with exception of tables being sticky, needing a daily wash down.
- in May 10

- in October 10
We had a nice holiday but only because we were with friends & made a decision not to let the bad points ruin our holiday, what a shame the potential for this hotel is not being realized, it could be a little gem but instead it looks as though it will just be like the resta reef which looked old tired, come on thomson please dont fool people into thinking this is 5* platinum 4* egypt is a honest rating - in June 10

The food was awfull for the first few days but did get better towards the end but trying to find a clean table was an issue as they did not have enough staff, in there the main food hall is the only place you can get wine that run out on a couple of occations and only available at lunch and dinner so if you are a wine drinker that is the only time you are able to get it.

The rooms are lovely, the foyer is lovely as are teh grounds but the dining room is more like a factory canteen with all the sound effects, and it smells prett bad too; paper napkins, water marked cutlery, chipped, scratched and very cheap wine glasses and a 'drinks station' far away in the corner from which you will end up fetching your own as the staff are incapable of servicing a table efficiently.

For us though the experience was marred by the insistence of the Receptionist that we were to have a pool view room even though we had a ticket that clearly showed that we had paid extra for sea view room. - in February 10

The plastic glasses at the pool bar are filthy and you really don't want to drink from them. - in July 10
This could only have been caused by poor food hygene in the resturant or extremely poor poolside bar hygene with the plastic glasses that were serving the drinks in during sunbathing. - in June 10

The pool bar was another hazard, it had an amplifier located at the top a set of steps which you had to walk down to access a drink, the volume of the thumping booom boom music nearly deafened you and the state of the plastic glasses was an absolute joke, Turning to the dining room it was like a transport cafe and filthy, the floor was an absolute disgrace apart from the walkway from the entrance to the buffet area. - in August 10

The room which faced the pool was clean with ample space and the cleaner can in everyday to change the bedding and the towels, however the workmanship in both the bathroom and the bedroom was not up to scratch the grouting in both the bathroom and bedroom floors looked rushed, the paint on the walls in the bedroom was starting to flake at the bottom due to the wall being painted before the plaster had dried fully.

Local wine and beer was table wine quality Those wanting peace and quiet would be best adivised to give the pool side a wide berth with house muisc or egyptian music on for large parts of the day for animation mixed with a lawn mower motor thrown in for good measure ( solace at the beach but not much fun for our little one who wanted the heated pool) The hotel is new and it is finding it's feat - not for serious snorkellers - in February 10
