A decent hotel close to the beach and centrally located for excursions. The rooms are spacious, clean and the partial view of the sea very nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. Loved it, will definately return. Great location and right in the middle of Stalis. Very comfortable, quiet, could hear the sound of the waves breaking on the beach at night but had the added bonus of livelier entertainment just along the street. Can be very romantic sipping a cocktail by candlelight listening to the waves. The hotel itself is very contemporary and quite different from what you would expect in Greece but it works and has a lovely atmosphere, sitting sipping a glass of something on lovely comfy sofas and looking out to sea was perfect.

To sum up, The Anthoussa is a lovely hotel to stay in, before I forget, be specific about where you want your room to be, standard rooms can be in the hotel or in the annexe accross the road from the hotel, did hear a few people complain about this, not about the rooms!

We only booked this hotel late July, and had requested a "side-sea view" which we were allocated, nice sized room and spotlessly clean, towels changed daily, beach towels supplied too, if I had one critisism about the rooms it would have to be toilet, particularly the shower, lovely big jaccuzi bath,with shower inside, unfortunatley, for anyone with mobility problems it's not ideal!

the staff was brilliant , but i must say some did struggle with their english abit, the food was good but it tended to get a bit boring after the first week, but it was cheap enough to eat out on the odd night,The hotel was right in the centre with lots of bars and restraunts, If you go out at night i would recommend the beachcomber , they have live music ( which was great ) the red lion + dwyers irish bar.

Our favourite things: (+) location is superb, right on a sandy beach with free sunbeds and plenty of watersports if you want them. - in July 10
(-) Food was really good but it did get quite repetitive, this didn't worry us too much as we got such a good deal on the holiday we didn't mind wandering down the road a couple of days for lunch/dinner from local tavernas which was a nice change (-) Not the easiest to get drinks from bar; shortage of staff and certain bars only serve certain drinks (-) Typical German sun bed situation, generally need to get up before 8 if you want a chance to get a sun bed by the infinity pool (i'd say it was worth it, but if you don't there's always loads of sunbeds on the beach which are free and owned by the hotel so you don't have to pay) Overall we had a really fantastic holiday, it was exactly what we wanted as we purely went for a relaxing getaway and the location was spot on.

Outside the hotel, however, Stalis is a fairly low-key resort, with lots of bars, restaurants, shops, quadbike hire shops, etc, particularly if you head off right, outside the hotel.

Infact the kids pool was quite dangerous with tiles missing at the sides and the decking kept clasping, the sponge around the play area became mad hot and you couldn't walk barefoot, the kids club was a joke,as was the entertainment at the night!
