The hotel in general
The Severin Safari Camp complies with the principles of ecological tourism. To ensure that the fragile ecosystem in the park is maintained, special emphasis has been taken in the design of the camp and the service facilities. A biological waste water treatment plant and garbage separation, as well as solar technology and creating hot water from the waste hot air from the generators exhaust pipes ensures that mankind and wildlife can live in harmony.

Hotel location
Severin Safari Camp is located in Tsavo West National Park, the largest game reserve in East Africa, approximately 250 kilometres from Mombasa and Nairobi. The coordinates are the following: Latitude (2° 59’ 54,54’’) and longitude (37° 59’ 07,51’’). There are good connections to the camp by car and by plane. From Mtito Andei Gate, it is a 40 minute drive to the camp. There is an airstrip situated 25 minutes away from the camp, ideal for air safaris. The remote property is unfenced allowing wildlife to cross the floodlit waterholes. Maasai warriors provide safety around the clock, and are the link between the human race and nature at Severin Safari Camp.

Service at the hotel
Friendly service and comfort await you at camp in the middle of the African wilderness. The TÜV Rhineland in Germany, an internationally well-known certification company, awarded the camp for its first-class service performance and its SPA quality.

BARAZA CONFERENCE TENT
The Severin Safari Camp is moreover ideal for hosting conferences out in the bush. The 80 sq meters conference tent is suitable for up to 30 persons with various seating lay outs and equipped with modern communication and presentation techniques. We offer free Wireless LAN in all areas of the camp. An open air terrace is available for coffee breaks and informal gatherings. We offer different Baraza Meeting Packages. We will be glad to provide you with further information.


Gastronomy in the hotel
The Out of Africa Restaurant offers breakfast and delicious à la Carte menus for lunch and dinner with a selection of the finest South African wines. The chef‘s specialty is chicken and beef prepared on a hot stone or served as fondue.
The Thorn Tree Bar offers refreshments of your choice. Early morning coffee or tea and refreshing sundowners can be served on the private terrace of your tent. You will experience the pure romance of a safari while sitting around the nightly campfire observing the animals at the floodlit waterhole.


Sports, entertainment and pool in the hotel
Inspired by the African wilderness and centuries-old Southeast Asian techniques of wellbeing, our Spa is an oasis of peace and relaxation. The 430 square meters wellness area offers the first infinity Ying-Yang swimming pool in Kenya. Bathroom suites at the SPA reception connect to an open air- and a double treatment room. Trained therapists are there to advice you on what to choose from the SPA Menu. At the bar you can enjoy refreshments or have your drink whilst relaxing on sun beds with the stunning view of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Enjoy the freedom of your senses while listening to the sound of the wilderness.

At our Severin Safari Camp we offer you a lot of exciting activities. These include game drives around the Kitani circuit, »back of the house« tours, bush walks under the guidance of a Massai or a ranger of the Kenya Wildlife Service. Further highlights are the bush lunch, the sundowner at Poacher‘s Lookout with sparkling wine and canapés or the visit of the Mzima Springs. These excursions are offered for a surcharge. Playing cards, chess, a small library are available for your use and a shop is available.

KENBALI FITNESS TENT
A Work Out in the middle of the Kenyan bush? The new KENBALI fitness tent offers a nice view and is equipped with professional equipment from Precor. This includes treadmill, stepper, bike and weight bench. Yoga mats and –pillows are at your disposal as well.


Hotel room/Accommodation
The camp offers 27 luxurious accommodations spread over 25 hectares of bush land.

Tents
All the 21 octagon tents are equipped with running hot and cold water, shower, separate toilet with bidet, comfortable beds with mosquito nets and a private terrace. Each tent is equipped with 220V electricity, a SEVERIN hairdryer, a safe and offers free Wireless-LAN access.

Junior Suites
The four concrete walled junior suites additionally have a separate lounge, a sun deck with sun beds and a private courtyard with outdoor shower. The junior suites, called Mzima Springs, Roaring Rocks, Chyulu Hills and Shetani Cave have spacious naturally lit bathrooms with double washbasins. Coffee and tea making facilities, first fill of mini bar and butler service are inclusive.

Suites
The look-out decks of the roomy Kibo and Mawenzi suites offer a splendid view of Mount Kilimanjaro and the expanse of the savannah. Additionally equipped with a corner bath tub and connected to a second tent, the suites are also perfect for families. Coffee and tea making facilities, first fill of mini bar and butler service are inclusive.
