The Sunrise Mamlouk provides good quality and value for money for a pleasure break in Hurghada. I recently spent 10 days there and I was particulary impress by the friendliness and hospitality of the staff, on eperson in particular who always made such a difference with his friendliness , helpfulness and proffessionalism was Mahmoud Naby Hamed, the beach attendant. Nothing was ever too much effort for him and we cant praise him enough.

The Hotel was well run and very clean, really good staff, George the waiter in the bar was brillient really helpful and very pleasant. All the staff was. The only problem was that you had to book ultra inclusive if you wanted to eat in all the al a carte resturants and use the sister hotel facilities. this was not explained to us on booking, but they would let us pay extra when we got there. We did not enjoy the food in the main buffet very salty

This is our first visit to Egypt and I was unsure of what to expect, this hotel is rated as 5* and in some areas this is the case but little things need to be updated in order for them to maintain this standard, never the less this was a very pleasant hotel with some excellent staff.

I've never felt as comfortable in any hotel I've stayed in anywhere else in the world. The hotel area is lovely with beautiful architecture and style, and the gardens are very beautiful. The atmosphere is calm, stress is nowhere to be seen! Me and my family enjoyed 2 peaceful weeks here and we would love to return sometime.
There are two very good size pools, of which one is heated. The non-heated was a bit cold now in January though..

The Hotel itself looks nice, in traditional oriental style. But it's too old, everything is broken around, tiles are falling dawn, dirty in the corners, cutlley is half broken, glasses on the bars are terrible.

We have been to Egypt many times before but this hotel is the best by far, ok the buffet restaurant isnt that great but you dont have to eat there as you can eat at the pool bar in both Mamlouk and sister hotel Sunrise Gardens and also there is the beach bar in both hotels then theres the Italian for dinner which is lovely this was one of our favourites for dinner and also on a night time the staff in here are fantastic and cant do enough for you (recommend the steak in mushroom sauce) the Asian was also fantastic and the staff here were equally great, you can use the sister hotel for breakfast/dinner/tea which we found was slightly better food wise on the days you could not eat in the a la cartes. - in June 10

we travelled in a party of seven adults on the tenth of aug this year to hurghada the airport was a farce well it is ramadam then we was greeted by our rep tarek gettin us to our resort when we got to the mamlouke palace oh my god we got drinks on arrival bags taken to our rooms cold towels for our faces we got there late in the eveing so we went to the disco and had a ball got up early to go to the reps meeting it was explained well by tarek the do s and donts he turned out to be a good friend during our hol he took us to the night clubs in hurghada and got us drinks and taxi s back to the hotel well the mamlouke palace its great the staff the lifeguards thebar staff the cleaners fantastic people they waited on us all the time soon as they found out we was english they shouted manchester united the hotel is very clean the pool bar food is ok the main restraunt is bad its like a stampeed at seven o clock as soon as the doors open not much choice for the english, they have an english corner and the only thing really english is jaket potatoes.

great location only 20 mins from the airport when we arrived we went stright into a very modern reception greated with cold towels and drinks, we had two rooms for 3 people in each these were very roomy with pleanty of wardrobe and draw space we had a safe in the room a mini fridge filled with water daily and soft drinks once a week a hair dryer in the very nice bathroom c/w walk in shower with constant hot water, we also had a big tv that did have about 5 english speaking channels. - in July 10
On arrival to the hotel in what I must say the hottest sun I have ever felt, we where greeted with cold towels and a drink and a kind welcome home from the staff, you just basically sit down and have a drink and the staff will check you in after you have completed a small card, you are then shown to your room and the cases will follow 10 minutes later, I gave a small tip of 20 Egyptian pounds and they seemed happy enough. - in May 10
I was very apprehensive before we departed as the reviews had been negative, but my worries were soon eased upon arrival at the hotel, we were immediately greeted with cold towels and drinks and a bell boy to take our cases to the rooms, check in was done for us whilst we enjoyed our first of many wonderful cocktails.

The Hotel Kids Club deserves a special mention - unlike some othet hotel run clubs it really is very good with proper planned activities and great staff. - in June 10

Iwas there same time as some of the last posts, but i found it to be fine, ok i will admit our cleaner was rubbish, we was in block 18 and out rooms was not cleaned that well, but others in next block were fine, around the complex was the cleanests ive seen in all my holidays, the staff were very nice and bent over backwards to help, even at lunch when it was very busy we did not have to wait to get drinks as the staff always clocked us and remember what we drink and got it for us, the food was good and like everyone says repeptative, but is that down to people sticking to what they like, the al-cartes were good only one we didnt enjoy was the asian as the food was cold, we had teenagers with us and they all enjoyed it and spent most of it with staff in the disco, there is not many english about but i like that as i feeel i am away, had no problems at all other guests, i am a fusy eater and i found loads to eat, every meat apart from pork, we tipped little each day ($1 ) and found we got a really good service from the staff, but they really wasnt botherd if you tip of not, we booked a boat trip with MOMo on the beach at blue waves, he did us a really good deal and we had the whole boat to ourself for the whole day and what a fantastic boat it is, we did fishing -snokerling- had a big meal laid on with drinks and went to pleasure island, swimming in the red sea wasa big highlite for me it was out of this world. - in June 10

Oriental: don’t be fooled by the name there is no resemblance to oriental food you will find it is Egyptian and Lebanese food but still better than the Buffet Restaurant, I must stress that you book these restaurants and avoid the Buffet, Bars and drinks, the bars vary along the hotel you have the beach bar and the pool bars that will serve you everything you can get in the main bars but in plastic glasses you can also get coffee and tea and a selection of cakes the beach bar will provide you with a better selection of food at lunch time. - in April 10

Plenty of sunbeds available some were a bit old but there was always some free. - in October 09
Beach ok, plenty of sunbeds and a area where you could swim.

The unheated pool is much quieter and you will have no problem getting plenty of space if you want it.
