great family hotel! fantastic location and garden. Very good food. For cheap shopping we recommend Al Karama and not the well-known, large center as Emirates mall, Dubai mall and the mall Dubei very poor outlets. Very good price performance ratio for gold and diamonds can be found in the original gold Souk at the port. In two years we will stay here again! Read more

Carnevale (italian) is very good and my personal favourite is La Parilla on the 25th floor with great view - it's an Argentinian steakhouse and serves some of the best steak i have ever eaten, It is quite expensive though.

Also places to escape and enjoy great views of Dubai, for example the "Uptown" bar on the 24th floor, it is a wonderful hidden place, Anna the assistant manager was welcoming and hospitable, we enjoyed her bar.

The JB pitches itself as a family hotel and I guess it needs to cater for all tastes but don't let the 'family' tag put you off if you are travelling without children - there is plenty of space for everyone, the beach is pristine and expansive and, as I mentioned earlier, the incredibly spacious rooms (with jaw-dropping views of the Burj) are fantastic.
