Villa Antica Tropea

For a short break, the hotel is great. Our room was on the small side, but there were totally enough (but the bathroom was huge). The hotel area was very beautiful and very well kept, despite the close proximity to the hustle and bustle, you could sleep great at night, as you don't expect too much from it. The staff is very accomodating. The only drawback: the breakfast. No fresh rolls and croissants. Very sad in terms also, in southern Italy that this very inexpensive. The four-star Villa Antica were not on the breakfast buffet, not in the cleanliness of the floors or in a perfect organization, but in the lovingly chaotic Italian mess, the charm of the imperfection. We were with a lot of joy and had arrived but within 1 day unfortunately remember, that the hotel never the four stars. We rarely feedbacks but unfortunately is a bit naive and diligent but untrained staff not much positive to say about this hotel. The rooms are musty, rather scant and 50 years ago (antica just) equipped. Worked for us it is not. The price is too high for the hotel. A Shame! I had already in advance about this hotel informed and knew, that the rooms on a main road and therefore very noisy. No problem, we had packed earplugs, this was not the main problem. When we arrived, we could not find our reservation and after a long wait they brought us for a night in another hotel. This had only three stars, which was clearly noticed. Very nice nice hotel with friendly staff. We had booked bed and breakfast. The breakfast was a little unortodox 'enough'. Table-clearing was not one of the strengths. But the people heart! If we go to tropea, then stay at this hotel again. Read more
