Stay away, dump! The appearance deceives!

The appearance the lobby is deceiving, but powerful. The rooms although clean however really beautiful run down. No safety deposit box, no fridge, no hair dryer, no ice machine (which with us -hotels standard is). With the staff with Spanish partly much better than with English. Lots of young guests. Parking spaces there are for 5 Dollar on the day in the immediate vicinity enough. As the metro highly recommend you should rather a hotel a bit out of the way find. read more

In the bathroom was from shower and klo was, was the shower dirty and all mountings totally calcified. It was a strange smell in the room. The pictures from the catalog do not fit with the reality match. Hair was in bed. We are just checked out, it was just disgusting. read more

Our third stopover brought us to LA. Since the point very spontaneously was, it was also our reservation and we had to us after a reasonable hotel elsewhere, since hotels in La spontaneously very expensive can be. The Cecil has a (old, but ) very nice entrance hall. The rooms are extremely run down: the window do not open and after every warm shower - yes, warm water 's perfect-fogged up the window in the room, in the bathroom as it was no fan. Even if the window are closed, you can hear the traffic evenings still quite good, but ... since we booked a room in respektabler amount-the 11th floor-had, it was well tolerable. The bed leaves feel, what 'springy' means and a correct cover gave it unfortunately not ( instead a blanket with sheets. The rooms can multiple lock, even if our castle something nagged, and the entrance is a Sicherheitskraft. You feel in the Latin American style, slightly run down area quite safe. In the entrance area there are free Wi-Fi, the many used. read more

The hotel cecil is located in the lively downtown los angeles the rooms are a bit old, therefor but clean (each day cleanly made or the towels were changed). Our room had tv, ceiling fan, bathroom (shower, toilet), sink and built-in cupboard. The staff are very friendly and helpful (we didn't need an adapter for amer kiani chen outlets and a hair dryer, which was no free of charge was, moreover, a, if you are a little confused, with the technology, and it was immediately explained how everything worked). All in all, I can only say good things about this ... hotel, for high standards you are looking for a 4/5 star hotel. For vacationers, the rather in the experiences, invest it is fine. For families I would not recommend this hotel nevertheless, since it is located in downtown los angeles, not the nicest area in the city and, although the connections to the traffic in the room were excellent, the need for a while then (for example with the bus to venice beach about 1 hour). Therefor hollywood is by train only about 20 km. read more

for a city break ok, you have to book a room with a private bathroom. No air conditioning. Downtown has many shops and bars. Thursday was a kind of a huge. Festival with the bus after about 2-2.5 hours. Santa monica with the taxi to the airport about 30 minutes. read more

I travel often and have never stayed in such a terrible hotel! We had two double rooms in 15. Floor! It was a terrible stench in the room, all mountings were dirty and moldy! (the one could also smell)! The floor tiles in the bathroom could be any uplift and reassemble, some were already broken! The bathtub was so dirty, moldy and there was such a coating, that I would not be inside riesenburger, it would be the last bath former! If you are at the The bed on one side had, it was the others, as in the case ... of a Bierbank! the floor was full of stains. I don't know where they came from! One could not close the window, it was so noisy! we had booked three nights, we arrived in the middle of the night at, that is why we are the first night, the next morning we are very early in the morning by our for sale front desk to check out! The lady at the front desk ask not long, which wouldn't match or whether they gave us another room could be made the impression as if it were the already used and we had checked in 1 minute! we went to the best wester hollywood-it was really great! Very highly recommended, and much cheaper! We were on our tour in many basic motels, they were very simple but clean! read more

We stayed for our city journey in May the cecil hotel. The first impression in the lobby of the hotel was good. However, when we saw our room was nothing good. The room was very, very small. You could almost not even to make your bags. The bathroom was extremely small chamber, toilet, tiny sink, and middle a drain with a curtain, that was the shower. One almost at the The toilet cleaned shower ☺ Cleanliness was moderate to hell. We were glad to have sagrotan. Around the corner was the fire station, as every few minutes, the fire department ... and you stood startled (as would not have been enough normal traffic noise). Internet is only available in the foyer. Hotel is located in downtown, not the best location if you are going to the sightseeing is. Were on our car. Guest parking right next to the hotel for three days of 42 $(guarded 24). We didn't have breakfast, have only seen as other guests in your cereals crushed their parking. We would definitely not book this hotel again! read more

Basic hotel in downtown los angeles archived

We had selected the cecil hotel because of its central location in downtown, as we would be without a car in los angeles and on public means of transportation were dependent. In this respect, our decision was right. The nearest Metro station 'pershing square' is about eight minutes walk from the hotel, buses right around the corner in different directions. Hotel is ok, but there was no air conditioning in the rooms (only ceiling fan!) unbearably hot in the summer months not to be recommended! read more
