We have this hotel since many years for our kulturaufenthalt selected and are all together always satisfied. Advantage the central location, the rapid access to all important cultural heritage. Another plus is the integrated kitchenette. Food : only breakfast Downside: in the hot summer weather no air conditioning. Another minus is the bad ventilation of the bathroom, in the toilet is. The location of the hotel is very good the staff are friendly. The dishes in the evening small selection. Breakfast buffet prefer a middle price and i must not always consider what i should. Old furnishing of the rooms elevator very slow. read more

A hotel with real viennese flair like one it introduces itself! Traffic connection very good, approximately 150 meters to the underground station, Rathaus approximately 300 meters. So great. Breakfast and service perfect, it wasn't missing anything! Cleaned shortcoming, what i judge have, is the cleanliness in the room and especially in the bathroom with the air ventilation. There is also a real traube in bacteria, which in a 4 star hotel must be! (room 407) I have at the front desk upon departure specified, however no apology or similar! Hotel in a very good location, unfortunately no car park vpr the hotel. Long search often necessary to in front of the hotel the unload luggage to may. Parking then nearby at the astoria garage for a fee ( 18 € / day ) room would a renovation good. ( comfortable but quite run-down) read more

The five-storey hotel is situated next to a theatre, and is generally in very good condition: all public areas in the hotel were very clean. Breakfast is available at an extra cost, as is internet connection. As we didn't take breakfast in the restaurant, we did not see many other guests; those we did were mostly in their 40s/50s. read more

    We had a junior suite on the fifth floor. I'd been worried about possible traffic noise with the hotel being on a fairly busy road, but the sitting room was at the front of the hotel, and the bathroom was between it and the bedroom. Whilst the view from the bedroom wasn't exciting, it was fabulous to have no noise whatsoever at night! There was a TV in the sitting room, along with a sideboard, settee and coffee table. The thermostat for the heating was in the sitting room, so it was good to be able to control the temperature outselves. The built-in wardrobes were in the hallway, and there was a free-to-use safe available to use. The bathroom had a bath with shower attachment, and plenty of towels which could be changed every day if required. The bedroom had a double bed with two separate mattresses, and two single quilts, and there was plenty of extra bedding if required. I had difficulty with the very firm bed, as I have orthopaedic problems, but an extra mattress was provided without fuss on the day I asked for it, and this ensured I was able to sleep well for most of the week. As there was a mini-kitchen in the suite, we used the facilities to have breakfast and cook simple dinners, and ate lunches whilst out and about. The suite was cleaned every day, and the quality of furnishings and linen was excellent.

    Unfortunately, our knowledge of Austrian/German is very limited, but the staff all spoke excellent English. We met about five staff members during our stay, and all were friendly ~ as was the housekeeping lady who cleaned our suite, although she wasn't able to speak English.

    The hotel is located about a five minute walk from both an underground station and tram stop, so is very convenient for accessing all tourist routes. Using the fast City-to-Airport train is excellent; on our return, we left the hotel at 09:50 on Saturday, walked to the underground station, had an easy journey to the CAT station, followed by a short wait for the train that takes 16 minutes. We reached the airport at 11:45. There are many excursions available from and within the city, and the reception staff are very helpful with advice and guidance. The street on which the hotel is situated has many small shops, ranging from food shops to gift shops, cafes to clothes shops. The prices were extremely reasonable.

The general state of the hotel is very good. Location and the surroundings are of course excellent because of the proximity to Westbahnhof and the internal center of vienna. Furthermore very good traffic connection by streetcar, bus and subway. In the gastronomy ( breakfast buffet) is also nothing to complain about - except the value for money, for €18, -you expect a little more comfort and choice at the breakfast. Unfortunately was our kitchenette in the room very dated, furthermore were the kitchen cupboards locked. The closet has a rod, no shelves or drawers. Altogether we felt spatially rather cramped ... - in comparison to other cordial -hotels in achenkirch or Kitzbühel. In our experience as always very good and we would love to go back in the cordial Hotel Wien back. The center is on foot reachable and the easy access to public transportation is also very good. read more
