Holiday Inn Hotel Westside Bern^{(4 stars)}

Stylish hotel outside of bern. Size of the room and the bath were good. Breakfast was okay. The hotel is a recreation center ( swimming pool, cinema etc.) Attached, therefore evenings a bit hectic on the complex. Value for money somewhat too expensive. read more

Rather new hotel on the outskirts of the town from Bern, directly next to the highway ( linear distance maximum 120 meters), nevertheless you didn't hear them. The room has the charm a submarine cabin: gray metal-or at least metal looking wall mouldings, connecting door between two rooms not obviously not size running are. Positive: express Wi-Fi free and outlets of various execution in case the adapter for Switzerland forgot. Large garage with spacious parking spaces, tram station directly in front of the hotel. What really annoying is: the restaurant. There is no alternative all around, it is also for ... Swiss standards expensive and the quality didn't match at all. During dinner is initially something else than the ordered club sandwich. Again wait, then comes the ordered, but inside it is cold and otherwise of less stringent ingredients than in the card explicitly described. Ham with Flaxen in it-disgusting. It is in the microwave heated (!) and tasted then like the muck in otherwise only in England or East Germany gets. If it at least cheap would be, but it is not. At least the restaurant manager the recognized and only the drinks all nights will be charged. Staff generally attentive and friendly. I had booked over a travel agency a night holiday inn Bern booked. Our company has the framework agreement with this chain. Unfortunately the travel agent in the day of arrival and I was already missed the full room rate will be charged as cancellation fee (198 CHF) (although statement the receptionist the hotel was only half booked and my rooms does not have to be sold. My request, the price for the right night (partly?) to match, was rejected with reference to the rules. Had a business room, everything was great. Wiki, which is free, is rather slow, faster Wiki only against payment. A shame, at these rates faster Wiki should be included in the price. read more

Now third was time in this hotel and I am totally satisfied. The west side center is a huge complex with opportunities for shopping en masse, swimming and fitness center, directly on the highway Bern-Lausanne built. Exit at the hotel. City buses are just on the other side. Lobby with front desk, bar, restaurant and terrace welcomes the guest friendly, with well trained, multilingual staff. Check/check-out is very fast. My single room was big enough, clean and well equipped. The bathroom was adequate, everything there, the wall tiles have shone cleanliness! The breakfast buffet was well stocked, good selection, quality ... was in order. Extra wishes may take a little while, sometimes you have to ask! Around the whole to recognize you would have several times or for a couple of days come. It was certainly not boring! read more

The hotel is very recommendable. From the room, staff to the location everything was fine. Very friendly and clean. Transport links to the city Bern great. And the highlight is the entire West side center. With great restaurant, of purchase possibilities and the baths. read more
