The hotel we have from 28-12-2012 until 03-01-2013 booked, around new years eve in New York to celebrate. The cleanliness of the hotel, as well as in the room was alright, however we noticed on our floor (14), the ventilation unusually loud throughout the hallway at night. In the hallway was peeling off the wallpaper was peeling off the ceiling and you can tell quickly, that the hotel its best days long behind itself had. Our room was big and spacious, however, was the ventilation in the bathroom, as well as the heater in the room (in the off mode) ... so loud, that we the 1st night sleep. These i called the next morning at the front desk and met with a german tourists from the 10. floor, which is also on the noise of the ventilation weighted. At the front desk the wife very curt, promised but, they take care of wool. Of course until the evening nothing changed and we could despite ohropax not sleep. When i the next morning sleep-deprived the woman at the front desk asked, what with the volume is, twitched only with the shoulders. The caretaker have it looked at, but he couldn't do anything. A different room i could not get, because the hotel was fully booked. As i said, that their job is to ensure, that the guests at least in peace sleep she said only, that we look for another hotel could. The room is clean, however the carpet and the furnishings very old. In the bathroom the plaster crumbled from the wall and the shower head was hanging from the wall. (probably someone must adhere to ☺ ) The ventilation in the bathroom was unbelievably loud, so that we could not sleep, even the ausgeschaltete heating blasting so loud, that it at night despite ohropax unbearable was (bad mood the next morning inclusive) Mini bar fridge was available but empty. A small coffee machine was available and a large flat screen tv. The room only had a small window. Although the room in the all in all was okay, i give still a 1.0, as the noisy appliances and the insomnia simply as negative criterion prevail.

The small breakfast area reminded us rather of a youth hostel. Plastic plates and cutlery and american mikrowellnessen with very limited choices. We only one morning eat there, with a stomachache almost for including... Then we in New York breakfast...

Friendliness and service at the front desk incredibly bad. Our complaint for volume in the room (ventilation/heating) was simply ignored and sat out. The cleaning of the rooms was however absolutely okay.

The hotel is located just approximately 9 minutes (shuttle ) from the airport and 10 minutes (on foot) from the Newark Penn Station away, which was very good. However the hotel is surrounded by empty and slow failing high-rise, which in the dark was very frightening worked. At the train station it smelled every day urine, faeces and sweat, because the odachlosen cityward in the winter stay and sleep. Around the station around we felt safe, as on all small groups and with drugs gedealt have. When we in New York a german guided tour made, said our guide, that the crime and the drogengangs in New York under mayor giuliani disappeared (new polizeistrategie ). While the crime in New York always continue to decrease, climb in Newark. Then we weren't much better, when we at night in the station in Newark arrived ☺
