Our family returned to Dunas bungalows for a 10 day stay as we enjoyed our previous holiday. This time we brought along my father. The facilities cater for all age groups. My five year daughter is still delighted with the hard-working fun talented Kids Club organisers GiGi, Sara & Yara (although she missed Tracey from last year).
My husband enjoyed playing afternoon football, especially after the great buffets meals. My father looked forward to playing table-tennis. I had a great laugh playing pétanque with the Dutch.
There are five swimming pools. Lots of sunbeds. Two poolside bars. Margot always gave ... a warm welcome.
A vast range is provided at meal times. The staff have great pride. Rosa is warm and friendly and the Dining Manager always found us a table immediately. My daughter loved it each time he said 'Ole' if she was wearing her Spanish dress. After tea time is was Kids Disco from which she learnt language skills and expended energy. The show we all enjoyed the most was the Chinese Acrobats, they were brilliant and funny.
The beach is either a 20 mins safe traffic free walk or the complimentary bus (three times a morning outbound). Unfortunately the hawkers are still lurking there in the mornings, just ignore them and don't let them tie their 'friendship' threads around your wrists or try your luck on their scratch cards that always win (Timeshare). You can have a pleasant walk along the Dunes or around the LightHouse (designer shops).
Transport is cheap (compared to UK) taxi to Sioux City from hotel is under 10 € and the bus station is 15 mins walk (visit pretty Mogan €4.5 for the 40 mins journey).
I would recommend this holiday to families and cannot wait to re-book. Some villas are currently being re-decorated read more

We had a suite in the 3000. Area and are perfect satisfied:
Positive:
- diet/vegetarian/vegan on request (perfect!)
- great complex (green, lots of plants etc.)
- new furniture in the entrance area the room
- heated, but to warm pools (34 °c-36°c, super breeding ground for bacteria, etc.)
- really nice restaurant and at the front desk
- compassionate staff (super)
- clean rooms
- 200 meters to the golf course (driving range 2 Euro per 24 balls)
Criticism/suggestions:
- super slow wireless internet in some rooms and for a fee of 18 Euro/week
- bathtub/shower was ... a bit broken and from the shower is always half the bathroom with the shower fully
- closets in the bedroom 'miefen' inside, should be replaced
- old tv with 12 channels (german television ARD; ZDF; ProSieben) with bad picture and clay/tone quality
- a few are at the pools at the 3 pools
- the hotel has its own supermarket partly 80% more expensive than in other surrounding chains

Alltogether it is a really great hotel.
Subsequent criticisms it to mention:
The condition the bathtub in our bungalow did not live up to the otherwise good impression the bath. (peeling nachbeschichtung, or open days tretender kantenrost ) the smell in the bathroom was always a bit of sewage plant.
High wi-fi costs.
Contrary to the statement in the prospectus, distance beach 800 metres from the hotel, reality about 1.3-1.6 kilometer, depending on location of the room in the hotel complex.
Tip: the shopping opportunities in the area the hotel are very expensive. If you have time and ... is ready one or another to carry, it is recommended, in the supermarkets in the Varadero-einksufszentrum to buy. Some articles (food) you paid only half the price. read more

On the first day we got unfortunately a wrong bungalow, which is not very nice was there beside a toddler was. Mmh, it sorted out on the next day and the a week was great. We will definitely go again, the hygiene is super, at the pools is in the morning and in the evening the water examined, the food is great and in all-inclusive on plentiful. The bars are very good, only of longdrinks must i a minus soutenant as they do not meet our standards. ( Piña Colada bloody sweet and tasted not after kokus ) is very ... recommendable a ride in the palmitospark. A drive by bus costs a few Euro and takes about half an hour. A very beautiful area. However the staff is not motivated. No matter wether front desk or dining room, it is everywhere only the coerced and explained. The maids again were very friendly. For the food you have always found something. However it was nothing special. It was mostly rather too cold. Also the exhaust fan was not ideal, it smelled after fat / roasted.
Individual services (tips) could through frequent change the waiter not/hard will be rewarded.
Animation:
The volume was not as bad as in other reports described. During the day by the pool in the area (a) higher ... room speakers and evenings (program) bearable. But in the outdoor area of the restaurant heared.
For not spanish children not very simple. Spanish influences dominate. English/german less.
Team itself: nice, friendly, and work hard and regards at least if you visit.
Accommodation:
Small bungalows/or suites in the main by a kitchenette distinguish. In the bungalows is the living room the central location. From here, you go into the bathroom (with a shower, bath tub, two washbasin and toilet) or the bedroom.
The suites from the living room in the bedroom and from there to the bathroom!
The cleanliness the suites was very good.
Cockroaches: since everything is at ground level can to sighting of these animals come. We have a ten days in the villa had. Other had seen.
Catering:
We had all-inclusive, one must not have however. Restaurants in all price ranges, there is nearby. Even on the hotel are also two à-la-carte -restaurants ( chinese/italian) the also good. The buffet is, as described solid, however no 'hit'.
Who small kitchen has, enjoys a normal fridge. This can significantly help.

No bad facilities. Three pool areas each with kids/baby pool (heated) bring connection have fun. The proximity (5-10 minutes ) to the beach with the possibilities there, round the thing off.
If you wanted, you could on the entertainment team also back seize.

Also good, as everything is at ground level. A small elevator from the entrance area in the restaurant is available, however, you can also a ramp reach.

We were 2 in a suite at the back pool accommodated. The suites are spacious and really clean. Because of the age the hotel are the materials a bit worn, but nevertheless presentable.
The front pool we have because of the animation- and sounded you with early music rather avoided.
The choice of food was more than enough and because of the quantity of the food, was the quality also very reasonable. The staff were always friendly and has both tried in spanish, german or english tried konkakt with the tourist included.
For the pastime was however not much. Except ... for a evening show the already better days experienced and that was it then already. Various external offers were on a cost basis for offer.
As recommendation you have to Faro so lighthouse mention, the various evening agenda, eateries and shops a great offer give. It is just 10 minute walk from the hotel and really very pleasant there. read more

The outside area is dreamlike the vegetation, as well as from the architecture. The number of pools (up to separated kleinkinderbereiche 1.60 metres deep) unbeatable, the neighboring facility 'behind the fence' shared can.
We were traveling with three adults and two children (11 and 9-years-old). The bungalows are different. We had two bedrooms, living room with sofabed and two bathroom: the master bathroom with a bath and toilet, as well as a separate toilet with a shower. A little tight, but with the camp you have less space.
The furnishings the bungalows could be better, but for the aim ... from. Safe, 1 hair dryer, microwave, stove with two plates, coarse equipped with kitchen utensils and coffee machine were available.
The suites have however so looks, as in the its catalog.
If you for new year's traveling, are the temperatures evenings a bit cooler. We didn't mind, we in the bar although could sit, the music plant off for the children's disco but between 20:00 and 9:00 p. m. initially way too loud was. You saw evenings just a few of the older people, the without children arrived. This looked rather on their terraces in front of the bungalows to sit, where it unfortunately already was quite cool.
A separate lounge area with bar would be in the winter recommendable. In the summer are many more seats usable. However it is evenings flexible, you can also in 20 minutes to the lighthouse walk, where also restaurants and bars are.
The staff are very hard working and accommodating and very suitable for children.
Who about the food something to complain about, eat probably don't like fish or meeresfrüchtesalate. Fries taste on the least buffet.
The dining room needs getting used to, since it's really loud, if it is full. But outside the storm and drangzeiten (you can see on the baby carriage in front of the dining room) it is very pleasant. read more

A beautiful well-kept complex,
With 3 pools, you can also in january good bathing,
The food, there is something for everybody, there many nations there are, it is not so just all eager to please.
The bungalows, ideally with 2 rooms, one can sleep a still looked a bit away, something for everyone.
3 times per week fresh bedding, who changes at home so often the laundry? Daily fresh hand towels and beach towels.
In my opinion, this is not necessary, as in the country anyway water. read more

A very nice vacation in a well-kept facilities. Because of the age the hotel we were about the condition pleasantly surprised. The planting is very nice and in the best way maintained. Also the friendliness of the staff should be highlighted! Wether in the restaurant or at the front desk, it had every a kind word or a smile for the guests desired. Very nice was also the possibility, at 4 pools to put. The food in the restaurant was always delicious and as a large selection. The only lack, we can give, is the condition the sliding doors (rails ... of broken) from the closet and sticking door of the shower's wall. It should also on the condition of the shower are respected. Here ', the chrome and it cuts come. This had but not affect a very nice holiday! read more

The hotel, as well as the location were ideal for us. We had a small kitchenette, living room, bedroom and a massive bath. Our suite was cleaned every day. We had a private large terrace, with chairs and table were equipped. The way to the pool was short, since the complex over several pools has. The complex is large, but well laid out and very well maintained. The reception staff were very friendly and fulfilled our wishes, like for instance a move in another suite ( better location) or an island tour. The food was good and varied. A wonderful area set in a superb park planted with beautiful flowers and beautiful old palm trees. Far away from the street noise and with a 15-minütigen walk on a promenade you can enjoy the fabulous beach reach. The bungalows very spacious with living room and a small kitchenette with toaster, coffee machine and microwave. The bedroom large enough. The bed linen is 3 times weekly changed. Everything was clean and neat. The selection of the breakfast and of the dinner very versatile and very tasty. 3 pools, of which this year 2 very well heated. Loungers enough available. We ... were in this complex already four times and like to come again. We can this hotel everyone (also with children) absolutely recommend. read more

The hotel is our opinion rather a 3-star property, is however reasonable. What has disturbed us the food was, the salads are reasonable and also the desserts but the main courses are very monotonous and tasted nothing special. The organization of the mini clubs could be better and above all also in german language, as many german kids were on site. There were activities announced, the then not at all or otherwise took place or at another place, it was rather chaotic and our son was twice very dissapointed and went then not more.
The outside area is very beautifully ... designed and also the state of the room was all right. We found the room for 3 people only a bit too small, especially was far from enough storage space available. That's a pity! read more

In december we were 3. in the hotel, family rooms with two bedrooms and living room. Everything great. Nice hotel with lots of green, very tidy and clean, several pools. To the beach circa 20 minutes slow on foot or by shuttle bus. Mostly older guests. So as far as everything was beautiful. Unfortunately the food regarding selection and taste in the comparison with other hotels in other countries (Egypt, Turkey, Marocco) nevertheless somewhat from. You have always found something, but the 'man, the was great tonight' has always missing. Breakfast was okay.
Moreover, i find it sad, that the ... sauna extra had to be paid. Should be a weekly price of about 800 €per person be included. The gym was a joke. Rather old machines and 2 broken bicycles. As mentioned, hassle-free holiday, but for the money you get better, also in terms of the weather.
Here another tip for mountain bikers, racer and ebike drivers and hikers. Great, guided tours for all classes with top wheels. Very recommendable. read more

Already 18 times i was guests in this hotel in the 'old' part of Maspalomas directly next to the usually dried-barranco and on the promenade direct to the beach located. The hotel serves me as a 'home base' for my regular cycling -training camp (each spring and autumn) to Gran Canaria.
It is a very well-preserved, older facilities with too many in bungalows summarized suites (without kitchen area) or apartments (with kitchenette). All units are ground floor with a small terrace to enter, have very generous space available (living room, bedroom, bathroom, terrace) and are located in a very well-kept ..., large and quiet garden area - no comparison with newer installations, which apparently the capacity made better use of it! These space available and, more generally, the uncomplicated reception are cyclists, what their ' darlings' with to the room take, huge bonus points. In the hotel complex there is a small, good equipped supermarket, for all eventualities (drinking water, travel soap, snacks etc.) Equipped.
The dishes - with me always half board - are in the main building taken, and the extremely rich offer in the last few years significantly improved and probably something there for every taste is. It is gratifying, that again and again regional, local dishes. The only negative detail is the sometimes a bit high level in the dining room - the however, you can by 'tactical' choice of meal times easy escape or to the free pass, where also is detected.
The for me most important bonus this house is however the extremely friendly, long-standing active staff, whose composition of the whole time only slightly changed-i experience to very good sign for a tourism! From the reception on the maid, the gardener, the waiters to the barkeeper - constantly meet i familiar faces, so i immediately after arrival the feeling have, 'at home' to be. That it not only i shall be taken, demonstrate the numerous regular guests this hotel (including many cyclists and triathletes).
If you want a 'cool' lifestyle -hotel with wellness -offer searches, is missing here in the square. Who uncomplicated, comfortable stay with friendly, personal service, pleasant other tourists and outstanding value for money good, solid food expected-winner! read more

We had a bungalow, there is villa called, with half board.
The complex is split. In the front area are the suites (without kitchenette but with a fridge), in the back area was the villas (with kitchenette that means 2 burners, 1 toaster, a § types, microwave, refrigerator, sink, dishes, pots, silverware
).
Please note: it is important to note, that in front of the main pool with entertainment and therefore during the day, there is very noisy. There is however quite suites, which quiet however, the number of limited.
We had a villa in the back part and it ... was very quiet.
The garden is very good well-kept and really very nice. Trash bin emptied daily and every morning when an army of cleaning staff and cleaned the area around the pools.
The complex features 3 pool areas, each with a children's pool (40-50 centimeter deep): at the front pool was entertainment, so it was a bit noisy. It also had a jacuzzi, and the pool bar was also there. The two other pools, which smaller than the main pool were, were in the area of the villas and were much quieter, since there no animation took place. For our stay the main pool not heated, the two smaller pools were heated.
The hotel is actually not a children's hotel, however, good, which also many families with children were there. Beds were free made available, in the restaurant there were sufficient high chairs, there was a mini club and in the evening a mini disco. We especially liked a lot, and also our daughter, was the fact, that the waiters always a nice smile, a joke and a few nice words for children remaining had.
Furthermore it was absolutely no problems, if there for breakfast/dinner with a child a bit noisy and dirty formal. read more

The hotel Dunas sutes belongs to a larger complex of hotels Dunas-group. The hotel itself consists of lots of small bungalows. Each 'rooms' has a private entrance with a' terrace ' (where a table with chairs to sit is).
The bungalow (so the hotel room) consists of a living room (with a fridge and television), a bedroom and the bathroom (with a bath). The furnishing is quite good.
The hotel makes a tidy impression, whereas in lots of small details of work (therefore only 5 suns).
I was at the end of november in the hotel. It was mainly pensioners ... and families with small children in the hotel. Very many germans and some english. read more

We are for a few years guests in this hotel and felt there very well. We prefer the villas area, because we the small kitchenette for the preparation of our morning coffee or a small zwischensnacks to use.
And very nice, well-kept park. The furniture in the living area was last year renewed. The reinigungsper - sonal makes its job very well, is very cautious and friendly.
The pools are cleaned daily and examined.
The food variety in the morning and evenings is rich, varied and tasty. There is amongst others a varied offer at fresh fruit. If the customer ... through a trip later for dinner comes, he finds also at 21:00 o'clock still the complete food variety for. The staff is always friendly and considerate. read more
