We loved the hotel very very much everybody was so helpful and wanted to wish us the best,great thanks to the animation team who played many games and activities
They were entertaining us the entire day by doing aqua gym beach games and shows every night and many more
They were really interested in the guests and made a nice talk to you everyday
Also when we leaved the hotel to go home the entire team waved us goodbye)
The waiters at the restaurants were also very nice
We had a good room with a view on the ... beautifull gardens
The beach was really near by the pool What was also realy comfortable
We had a great holiday here and we will come back soon for sure !

Would return to this hotel.The animation team are superb and the couple of issues we had were dealt with within the hour.Plenty of sunbeds and seating around the bar on an evening.The waiters are very attentive and the cleaner even made animals out of the decorations.Lots of happy memories here and will be retuning read more

We've spent 10 days in this hotel. The territory is big and beautiful, our room was next to the restaurant and the beach, everyday it was clean and room service was very good. Food and restaurants were excellent we liked Asian and Beduin kitchen. The staff in the hotel is very friendly and service is great. There are a lot of pools in the hotel and the beach is very good and comfortable. Also there are a lot of beautiful corals. I want to say thank you for all the animation team and especialy for Midooo and Boca, you are ... the best, never let us to feel boring. We would like to spend time again in Sunrise Royal Makadi and we will recommend it to our friends. read more

The staff were friendly. Hotel was clean. I really like holidays there. Food was amazing. Games with Animation Team was cool. I wasn't bored in this hotel. My and my friends room was good for as but we have only one bathroom for 5 people. EVERYTHIN ELSE WAS AMAZING! MISS IT! read more

overall I was extremely impressed with this hotel, resort and staff and would definitely go back again. I had an amazing holiday for a week and next time I would go back for 10 days!! The hotel was beautifully laid out and had something for everyone looking for a relaxing holiday. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble and at the same time they didnt hassle you like I have experienced in other hotels! Food and drink was good and there was also other restaurants that you could book for that offered something more varied from ... the standard buffet main restaurant. The Asian was superb especially the fried ice cream!! there is plenty of excursions that you can book with your rep if you fancy getting out and about and again I would recommend the Mamaya island boat trip as it was awesome! cant really recommend this hotel enough and it certainly contributed to a memorable holiday with my friend. read more

This was our second visit to the hotel. We came last year for our honeymoon and this year for our first anniversary and it did not disappoint. Some things have changed in terms of the way things run but it did not affect us at all. We really cannot describe in words how special this holiday made our first anniversary!!!
The hotel complex is absolutely huge with tonnes of things to do to keep you busy. Alot of the hotel has also been or is in the process of being redecorated and it is looking great. It really is truly ... beautiful with stunning gardens and lovely rooms.
The staff at the hotel are a credit to it. They really do make such an effort to make you feel welcome. The first thing they say when you step off the coach is 'welcome home'. And we can honestly say that we really did feel at home, especially with it being our second visit. And it was so nice to see old friends too. As for the animation team. we can't thank them enough - they just made our holiday for us! They are so friendly and we felt like we had known them all for years. Thanks guys!! We miss you soo much! read more

This Hotel & Holiday was absolutely brilliant.
We researched the hotel before we came and saw a lot of positive reviews and a mix of negative ones, mainly complaining about the food! Let me set things straight there is a humongous amount of food to choose from in the buffet restaurant and the 7 a la carte restaurants are exceptional. (Especially T-bones & the Italian !). Some people mentioned the hot food was cold. This was not the case for us, it was all lovely and warm and the chefs were constantly checking it. They freshly prepared omelettes and pizzas ... were absolutely gorgeous!
People also mentioned that they had issues that went unresolved with the hotel. I do not understand how these issues were not sorted out. I am not exaggerating when i say we were asked about 20 times if everything was ok or if anything could be improved during our holiday. The staff were constantly wanting to make sure you were having a good time and nothing was wrong. We had an issue with a broken toilet and fridge but within an hour of mentioning it someone had come and fixed the toilet and replaced the fridge ! Superb service. The rooms were nice and spacious and we had an adjoining door to the next room so the kids could go into the grandparents room as and when they liked.
The pool as brilliant they are huge and have a variety of depths so our children could play by themselves in the shallow area or venture deeper with supervision. The slides were a nice touch too and great for all the family.
The animation (entertainment) team are absolutely brilliant. There is loads of different activities they do during the day and shows at night. The shows are not West End quality but then again, as you get to know the team that put on the shows you are watching them and almost feeling proud of the production your friends are putting on. The activities in the day are excellent, we must thank Ahmed for his shuffle board games and water volleyball. no one is any good at them but he is so good at engaging with people and bringing them together that everyone had a brilliant time playing them. The kids absolutely loved him and he was brilliant with them making them feel very special individually. He was constantly smiling and going out of his way chat and be nice to people. A truly nice bloke that represents the hotel brilliantly
The kids club was great. Megan, Harry and Rachel were a credit to Thomas Cook and do a fantastic job. They really do care for the kids and never seem to switch off. They tend to hold two sessions a day of around 2 hours where you can leave your kids with them. But even at night or on their days off they are around and chatting and playing with the kids. I don't like leaving my kids with strangers but they gained our trust very quickly.
Khalid the thomas cook rep is very good and informative, we booked 2 trips with him which were exceptional value for money. The desert adventure is an experience i will never forget !
Our 3 year old by fell ill with an ear infection on day 1 of the holiday and we had to visit the hotel Dr who was great and sorted him out.
I fully understand why people come back here time and time again. The weather was fantastic and the hotel makes you feel like a family member coming to visit. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they go out of their way to make you feel special. I am a firm believer in the fact that people make a place special. every single one of the staff make you feel like you are a king ! It is a wonderful atmosphere with fabulous facilities.
The cleanliness of this hotel is amazing. There are dozens of people constantly cleaning and gardening to make the place look lovely. Some parts of the hotel are looking a bit old, but don't mistake that for dirty. Our room was wonderful and clean and all the restaurants were.

This hotel offered everything we was looking for, reading the reviews on here and looking what it had to offer on the internet, we certainly wasn't disappointed when we arrived. Greeted at reception with cold wipes and cold drinks, was the first thing we needed. Although we was originally put it a block quite far away (block 30) from the reception area and where we would like to be ideally, one quick phone to reception and they had a member of staff pick us up and our bags and move us closer to where we wanted to be (block 11) ... no questions asked. This was my first say in the hotel and i would definately return. All the staff where very helpfull and anything you asked them was never too much of a problem. There was a massive selection of 7 al a carte restaurants aswell as another buffet style restaurant, all with lovely food from places all over the world. There is also multiple pools one with a selection of slides and a lovely kids area. The animation team made my stay even better, with a big program of activites to do each day, including a show each night. Overall i think ... this hotel was amazing and i would definately recommed it to anyone. read more

This was mine and my friends second visit to Sunrise Royal and it was, as expected even better than before!!! The animation team made our holiday the best it could possibly be, always on the ball and spending time with guests!

The staff were what makes this hotel so friendly and homely. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were all great. The maintenance staff are working constantly to keep it looking as good as it does. The animation team are good fun but perfectly polite and not at all pushy. We wanted a relaxing 10 days, reading our books on the beach, which we were able to do, but equally, if you want to do more activities and join in with more things you can. read more

Going to try and break this review down as best I can.
1. Transfer - Absolutely fab, was given a form to fill in on the transfer. Time of transfer 34 minutes.
2, Arrival - Upon arrival we was shown into the lobby bar where our forms was taken from us and we was offered drinks, within 20 minutes we had our wristbands on and was shown to our room. Excellent, no faffing about queuing up just straight into our holiday.
3. Room - Twin Room, the most comfiest beds that we have ever slept in (apart from our own) ..., double couch/ pull out bed. Bathroom was so big you could easily have put a cot in if you needed more space for a baby it was huge. Room 11204 we actually had a sea view, we was ideally located for all pools and a la cartes/main buffet/ bars.
4. Food - The best food I have ever had, especially the Asian which was a huge favourite of mine and if you go you should definitely pay the extra and have the Tepanyaki, we did on our last night and it was well worth the money.
Now for my general review.
We went to the Rep Meeting the morning after arrival and I can honestly say I have never ever been to one like it. The Hotels General Manager was there as was the heads of all departments, the Animation, the TC kids club workers everyone. They all said Hello and constantly approached you to make sure throughout your holiday if everything was ok, do you need anything, we are always available and they was it wasn't just talk. One night in the Pergola bar the day after our boat trip when we had returned to the hotel and slept through dinner and the late night snacks I happened to mention to Fern from the animation that we had been starving as I could not find the room service menu, upon our return to our room there was a menu delivered to our room, Thanks Fern.
The Animation Team at this hotel are superb, if you go even if you don't want to join in in any activities just say hello to them they are the best. So thanks to Mido, Marley, Boca, Epiza, Fern, Ahmed, Karem, Bob, Tessa, Selvia, Caz, Sallam and the rest of the team I will miss dancing to Bomba and Africa.
Also if you go say Hello to Mina in the Jewellry shop and Essam the Blue Sky tour rep anything to help as seems to be the motto of this hotel. Also Sameh and Amir at the Pergola and Pool Bar, Mohammed at the Lobby bar so many to mention.
Special thanks to Salah Mahdy and Hashem Lotfy you guys run a truly superb hotel and I can't wait to come Home.
I only met a few (well 4 people) who had been ill on this holiday with Tummy upsets and one of them told us at the bar that he had been poorly for 2 days before the holiday and the other 2 people was on the same plane. I personally had an upset stomach once but that was after being on a boat in 40 degree heat for 8 hours and it was more sun stroke although you don't like to admit that but I will (well the sun and alcohol).
I have never been to such a clean and friendly hotel and I seriously can't wait to go back. If anyone has any questions please pm me I will be more than happy to answer. read more

Hotel stay was excellent, all staff especially the animation team are friendly and made you feel very welcome. They also asked how we were and if there was anything they could do to help. Asian and Mexican restaurant were the best out of the al a cartes but even the main food area was good. Night time entertainment was very good and entertaining. We came back for our second stay. We were very satisfied last year and our second visit surpassed our expectations. Gardeners have done a great job since last year. The most of all we appreciated the work of this year´s Entertaiment team. It´s amazing group of crazy people, they work hard to keep us amused. They really made our holiday unforgettable. For all I must mention still smiling Marley, Bob, Mido Oox, Ahmed, Sallam, Silva, Ibiza, still dancing Safy and I can´t forget BoCa - we were fascinated by his wide range of skills - he should be paid in ... gold) We miss each of them and looking forward to our third visit next year. This hotel provided excellent value for money. The total cost of the hotel for a family of 4 was about £1100 and that was on an 'ultra' all-inclusive basis. The room was of a good size and clean, the on-site facilities were very good; the beach and poolside were safe and clean. The staff were very friendly and the climate impeccible. Do not be put off by the air temperature which hit 41oC on several occasions during our stay and there is always a calming breeze on tap to take the heat away. The icing on the cake is the ... Animation Team. Once on this 'resort' it is unlikely that you will leave otherthan for planned excursions. The Animation Team work tirelessly to ensure that everyone is happy and entertained throughout their stay. A special mention should go to Bob, Mido, Boca and the team leader (name unknown) who regularly stole the show. Well done chaps and see you again soon. Paul Mercer. read more
