Admittedly the first view into the room gave us a avaliable cautiously Lachflash because it was small, but I think, if you want a hostel bay, is served from beginning no special demands regarding the comfort and luxury, this should not. Honestly had my girlfriend and I expected a much worse condition, after reading some of the reviews on this site. Both hallways, as well as the rooms are not particularly clean, but not nearly as dirty or even with bugs like we often had to read. There are very small rooms without large storage space, but there is a ... possibility valuables in the basement for $5 /day to lock and also the larger luggage there again. We had a relatively small double bed and we had to share a top sheet at first, but the next day we just go and have bought ceilings, which is in a city like New York yes really not a problem at all. From then on, there was no problem, it was actually sometimes at night due to the a bit noisy heating/bathroom using was partly still the nightly, although I take ear plugs and so it wasn't a problem at all. Unfortunately, the room was only cleaned once a week, which did not bother us since the room anyway with our shopping vollgepfropft was and the staff couldn't have hardly cleaning, only the trash could still daily or at least every second day time can be in/out privileges, but it's not a significant problem, we took the trash thrown in a ton. I want to highlight the bathroom, as we were armed with Sakrotanspray etc. prepared for the worst we were so pleasantly surprised that you just can say, highly. It was always clean and trash regularly in/out privileges. I think the it always on the users. read more

If you have a hostel bay, you know that you don't have to However it still great comfort. But the cleanliness and hygiene at least you can expect. We went to Candy hostel couldn't find them. This ettbezüge in our beds had strange spots, room and also Flurboden is with dirty carpets, you better not without shoes or enter barefoot. mirrorin alcove in everything was full of cobwebs and the window was so heavy, that you could this only with large open, so be performed a missing unaccounted. In the room was no closet, just a small shelf, but a ... large TV, do On a floor is shared with about 10 more rooms two bathrooms. The cleanliness and condition left to be desired, but also partially also the guests. It was cleaned daily, which for so many guests but wasn't enough. Partly there was no toilet paper. The ekelhaftesten though was that they bedbugs in our room, which had been robbed us at night and we therefore covered with bites. We have got back to us in Germany ärtzlich must be treated. Positive aspect of this hostel is at best existing internet connection with credit cards or Banknote PC. In addition there were in the basement safety deposit boxes for luggage storage. But costs $5 per safety deposit box expensive. Another positive aspect is good location, a subway station is two blocks away. Conclusion due to the insufficient hygiene and bed bugs, not recommended read more

For us (students) was the Candy hostel a perfect choice in a good location, with good connections. Our requirements were not very high, so we were not disappointed. The room is small but adequate, the Etagenbäder are not always effecient but reasonable, the staff were always friendly and also positive is that there is a lot of young people in the hostel, you are also in easy walking distance to the conversation. So my conclusion: I would the hostel book to stay here again! read more

In order to stay just a very good night Means. The price is very low and corresponding are on site conditions rather schmächlich. Nevertheless we were very satisfied, because in new York is only for sleeping in his hotel. A large positive the location is, direct the central park and very good Subway connections. For budget-minded individuals perfect accommodation. read more

We are well travelled and had two a double room. It was very small, but it was more than enough for us, since you really only there for sleeping.
You shouldn't expect much, since it is not a hotel, but a hostel at a very small price. Stayed for 14 days per person only about 200 euro. Where it is otherwise so conveniently located in new york city?
Right at the end of the street there are small supermarkets and shops of all kind, one block away from the metro Station.
You should go just without expectations, because if you ... want to have a bit of luxury, then you shouldn't be miserly=) read more

The hostel is located in a great, close to the 96th subway station, where trains. A bakery is also in the vicinity (Europe or something like that) and next to it, there was a small store. The rooms are adequate although very small and with carpet. The bed is the place. There is a shelf space and a mirror. There is only one as a cover sheets and bedspread. (For the winter a little too cold. ) It is recommended to take a take Hüttenschlafsack. The sheets and towels are changed once a week. On every floor there are 2 ... bathrooms, the fairly new and clean. You are of course only as clean as the Hostelmitbewohner they leave their and sometimes it was not so great. But that's life. Internet access is also available 4Stück ($2 for 20 minutes, then about 10 min $1 ) It is recommended to take a laptop with you. I would stay there again. read more

In the stay and TV room are many nice people. All in all, we have to say that you don't go to New York for a great hostel ... to, but cheap to see the city and if you want to stay in a central location, you could do in Candy hostel, but it was OK. read more

The entrance to the hotel is in the 94th W, that's why we needed to find a bit longer, but everyone knows it and you can ask people on the street. Our room was on the second floor, more than enough space, with 2 windows and Wi-Fi internet access. Clean enough, if you like it not sterile, then you shouldn't have any complaints. In the basement there are lockers, but $5 a day and if you open the safety deposit box early, you have to pay again! That is why we had laptop in the room and he is still ... there! Does not like the cleaning lady handle anything because never gone. read more

Great good and cheap accommodation in the middle of the Upper West Side/Manhattan/New York City. Very good connections to the MTA, only about 2 blocks from the hotel. The hostel is newly refurbished. We were lucky enough to be offered the chance to stay in a floor, where this already happened, nothing else to hear from the construction noise or the renovations. For those who like it so inclined to see the town or neat to shopping and don't get up for the decor of the room but to a clean, warm and comfortable room, this is the place! read more

The hostel is located west of Central Park, 94th Street. The subway is just two blocks away. After a quick and easy check-in we walked into our room, my first thought was: "You, is the hot here". After we turned the heating (still hot and extremely noisy) and opened the windows, it was after an hour colder. We complained and got given a at least twice as large room on the ground floor with a 1,4 meters large bed for two people. The room was clean and the fine temperature. The bathrooms are in the hallways, about 1 bathroom ... for 4 rooms, but we never had to wait long. The cleanliness was better than I had imagined, on flip-flops to shower but I still wouldn't do without. In the hotel there is an Internet corner, vending machines for drinks and snacks. read more

For a short stay in New York a good value for money. The rooms are rather modest, but you anyway, it only to sleep. Bathroom in the hallway, cleanliness depends on the Mitbenutzern from. cleaned every day to the part of several times. Partly room service, linen was after 3 days. Towels available at the reception desk on request. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The metro station 5 minutes; here, the Express train, it's a very short time in downtown Manhattan. Central Park 10 - 15 minutes, diner and breakys locally enough nearby. We would stay here again ... anytime. read more

It starts the outside at the front door, it - a wrong name on the door. Long wait at the check-in. The lady left a lot of time. There is only one old, slow elevator for about 8 floors. Had to wait in line for ages. The stairs are totally old and has different high levels. (My girlfriend is 2x tripped there). The hallway to our room is dirty, old furniture are standing around. The room is even worse. Does 2 windows but: There was only a closet and the reeked of umbrella. A mirror and a Wandregal. The bedding ... was dirty. Hair from the fact that everywhere. Have slept on our scarves and clothes. A view of the pillows was worse. Yellow were more than white. The air conditioning barely worked. Noisy hotel we had TV in the room. The but it was only in the lobby. There were 2 small bathroom for about 12 rooms. The bathrooms were totally dirty. The floor full of hair. The shower old. There were no towels at check-in, so we had to buy some. Until 10 hours outside evenings there was working on our floor. It was very noisy. We had heard very little traffic noise, with windows open. Strange was the on our floor a family stayed. think it were refugees. They live and a small room with 3 children. The room was complete with their stuff. For the Kofferabgabe had to du rent a locker. Costs $5 for 2 hours. The photos noisy website is not at all what we saw. And, there was no cleaning staff. The bathrooms were always dirty. Our beds were made and no one has taught or trash can. read more

Well, it is what it is, a very cheap hostel for Manhattan. We preferred, our money in activities and shopping to spend the night in and have been done to reduce costs. The hostel itself is quite clean, but could be better, but I think you should not be too picky. The rooms (we had one for 2 people, but also in other watched) are very small, next to your bed is usually only cramped enough room for a single suitcase. Per floor/course there were 2 bathrooms, but are cleaned daily. The guests age groups represented: D young, old and ... from all countries. The staff at the Candy is, however, very friendly. read more

This hostel was the absolute nightmare. In our room, incredible odor. The bed was the hair from the previous guest ... In some hotels there is a bar of chocolate on the pillow, so we were greeted at the Candy a Kakerlak (see pictures). * This was not the only * The sanitary installations are still from the 2 . World War II have been preserved. My advice, and tip 10 -$20 per night more and moving in a hotel (if necessary in New Jersey).. read more
