Admittedly the first view into the room gave us a avaliable cautiously Lachflash because it was small, but I think, if you want a hostel bay, is served from beginning no special demands regarding the comfort and luxury, this should not. Honestly had my girlfriend and I expected a much worse condition, after reading some of the reviews on this site. Both hallways, as well as the rooms are not particularly clean, but not nearly as dirty or even with bugs like we often had to read. There are very small rooms without large storage space, but there is a ... possibility valuables in the basement for $5 /day to lock and also the larger luggage there again. We had a relatively small double bed and we had to share a top sheet at first, but the next day we just go and have bought ceilings, which is in a city like New York yes really not a problem at all. From then on, there was no problem, it was actually sometimes at night due to the a bit noisy heating/bathroom using was partly still the nightly, although I take ear plugs and so it wasn't a problem at all. Unfortunately, the room was only cleaned once a week, which did not bother us since the room anyway with our shopping vollgepfropft was and the staff couldn't have hardly cleaning, only the trash could still daily or at least every second day time can be in/out privileges, but it's not a significant problem, we took the trash thrown in a ton. I want to highlight the bathroom, as we were armed with Sakrotanspray etc. prepared for the worst we were so pleasantly surprised that you just can say, highly. It was always clean and trash regularly in/out privileges. I think the it always on the users. read hotel review

As said it has an inconvenience, we never stay long in the room too much, mostly between 8 and 9 in the morning and leave at night at 11pm or later from, what more could you ask for, we had a bed and were all tired.

The location could not be better, only two metro stops from Times Square is about as central as could be and also breakfast and shopping facilities are two blocks away.

If you have a hostel bay, you know that you don't have to However it still great comfort. But the cleanliness and hygiene at least you can expect. We went to Candy hostel couldn't find them. This ettbezüge in our beds had strange spots, room and also Flurboden is with dirty carpets, you better not without shoes or enter barefoot. mirrorin alcove in everything was full of cobwebs and the window was so heavy, that you could this only with large open, so be performed a missing unaccounted. In the room was no closet, just a small shelf, but a ... large TV, do On a floor is shared with about 10 more rooms two bathrooms. The cleanliness and condition left to be desired, but also partially also the guests. It was cleaned daily, which for so many guests but wasn't enough. Partly there was no toilet paper. The ekelhaftesten though was that they bedbugs in our room, which had been robbed us at night and we therefore covered with bites. We have got back to us in Germany ärtzlich must be treated. Positive aspect of this hostel is at best existing internet connection with credit cards or Banknote PC. In addition there were in the basement safety deposit boxes for luggage storage. But costs $5 per safety deposit box expensive. Another positive aspect is good location, a subway station is two blocks away. Conclusion due to the insufficient hygiene and bed bugs, not recommended read hotel review

For us (students) was the Candy hostel a perfect choice in a good location, with good connections. Our requirements were not very high, so we were not disappointed. The room is small but adequate, the Etagenbäder are not always effecient but reasonable, the staff were always friendly and also positive is that there is a lot of young people in the hostel, you are also in easy walking distance to the conversation. So my conclusion: I would the hostel book to stay here again! read hotel review

In order to stay just a very good night Means. The price is very low and corresponding are on site conditions rather schmächlich. Nevertheless we were very satisfied, because in new York is only for sleeping in his hotel. A large positive the location is, direct the central park and very good Subway connections. For budget-minded individuals perfect accommodation. read hotel review

Size is OK but Delapidated, like in a Abrisshaus, crooked bedsteads broken carpeting with stains, full of rude with plaster ceilings and walls repaired and paint above clapping ... Furniture, broken lamp didn't work, only overhead light (bare neon tube). Window couldn't be closed, a gap remained always open. A radiator was not in the room, wonder, like in the winter? Well, now in May, at night it also fresh. The front desk was the but it didn't matter. Condition of the whole place is just as Ruinous and a disaster. At least: no insects sighting ...

There is no service! When I arrived they had no info on my reservation online Lastly, although I had ... Fortunately, I had a print out of it, so that the charge off the bill talk about. But I was able to get a nicer room that happened to be free. Handling of complaints: Absolutely indifferent. Room cleaning is non-existent. In fairness is the fact that the shared bathrooms (on the floor) 1x daily cleaned well. After the first still find Duschgängen pubic hair and other guests of course different in the shower/tub combos. Requires strong nerves, also for the toilets that were often crowded.

We are well travelled and had two a double room. It was very small, but it was more than enough for us, since you really only there for sleeping. You shouldn't expect much, since it is not a hotel, but a hostel at a very small price. Stayed for 14 days per person only about 200 euro. Where it is otherwise so conveniently located in new york city? Right at the end of the street there are small supermarkets and shops of all kind, one block away from the metro Station. You should go just without expectations, because if you ... want to have a bit of luxury, then you shouldn't be miserly=) read hotel review

The hostel is located in a great, close to the 96th subway station, where trains. A bakery is also in the vicinity (Europe or something like that) and next to it, there was a small store. The rooms are adequate although very small and with carpet. The bed is the place. There is a shelf space and a mirror. There is only one as a cover sheets and bedspread. (For the winter a little too cold. ) It is recommended to take a take Hüttenschlafsack. The sheets and towels are changed once a week. On every floor there are 2 ... bathrooms, the fairly new and clean. You are of course only as clean as the Hostelmitbewohner they leave their and sometimes it was not so great. But that's life. Internet access is also available 4Stück ($2 for 20 minutes, then about 10 min $1 ) It is recommended to take a laptop with you. I would stay there again. read hotel review

In the stay and TV room are many nice people. All in all, we have to say that you don't go to New York for a great hostel ... to, but cheap to see the city and if you want to stay in a central location, you could do in Candy hostel, but it was OK. read hotel review

The entrance to the hotel is in the 94th W, that's why we needed to find a bit longer, but everyone knows it and you can ask people on the street. Our room was on the second floor, more than enough space, with 2 windows and Wi-Fi internet access. Clean enough, if you like it not sterile, then you shouldn't have any complaints. In the basement there are lockers, but $5 a day and if you open the safety deposit box early, you have to pay again! That is why we had laptop in the room and he is still ... there! Great good and cheap accommodation in the middle of the Upper West Side/Manhattan/New York City. Very good connections to the MTA, only about 2 blocks from the hotel. The hostel is newly refurbished. We were lucky enough to be offered the chance to stay in a floor, where this already happened, nothing else to hear from the construction noise or the renovations. For those who like it so inclined to see the town or neat to shopping and don't get up for the decor of the room but to a clean, warm and comfortable room, this is the place! read hotel review

The hostel is located west of Central Park, 94th Street. The subway is just two blocks away. After a quick and easy check-in we walked into our room, my first thought was: "You, is the hot here". After we turned the heating (still hot and extremely noisy) and opened the windows, it was after an hour colder. We complained and got given a at least twice as large room on the ground floor with a 1,4 meters large bed for two people. The room was clean and the fine temperature. The bathrooms are in the hallways, about 1 bathroom ... for 4 rooms, but we never had to wait long. The cleanliness was better than I had imagined, on flip-flops to shower but I still wouldn't do without. In the hotel there is an Internet corner, vending machines for drinks and snacks. read hotel review

For a short stay in New York a good value for money. The rooms are rather modest, but you anyway, it only to sleep. Bathroom in the hallway, cleanliness depends on the Mitbenutzern from. cleaned every day to the part of several times. Partly room service, linen was after 3 days. Towels available at the reception desk on request. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The metro station 5 minutes; here, the Express train, it's a very short time in downtown Manhattan. Central Park 10 - 15 minutes, diner and breakys locally enough nearby. We would stay here again ... anytime. read hotel review

It starts the outside at the front door, it - a wrong name on the door. Long wait at the check-in. The lady left a lot of time. There is only one old, slow elevator for about 8 floors. Had to wait in line for ages. The stairs are totally old and has different high levels. (My girlfriend is 2x tripped there). The hallway to our room is dirty, old furniture are standing around. The room is even worse. Does 2 windows but: There was only a closet and the reeked of umbrella. A mirror and a Wandregal. The bedding ... was dirty. Hair from the fact that everywhere. Have slept on our scarves and clothes. A view of the pillows was worse. Yellow were more than white. The air conditioning barely worked. Noisy hotel we had TV in the room. The but it was only in the lobby. There were 2 small bathroom for about 12 rooms. The bathrooms were totally dirty. The floor full of hair. The shower old. There were no towels at check-in, so we had to buy some. Until 10 hours outside evenings there was working on our floor. It was very noisy. We had heard very little traffic noise, with windows open. Strange was the on our floor a family stayed. think it were refugees. They live and a small room with 3 children. The room was complete with their stuff. For the Kofferabgabe had to du rent a locker. Costs $5 for 2 hours. The photos noisy website is not at all what we saw. And, there was no cleaning staff. The bathrooms were always dirty. Our beds were made and no one has taught or trash can. read hotel review

Well, it is what it is, a very cheap hostel for Manhattan. We preferred, our money in activities and shopping to spend the night in and have been done to reduce costs. The hostel itself is quite clean, but could be better, but I think you should not be too picky. The rooms (we had one for 2 people, but also in other watched) are very small, next to your bed is usually only cramped enough room for a single suitcase. Per floor/course there were 2 bathrooms, but are cleaned daily. The guests age groups represented: D young, old and ... from all countries. The staff at the Candy is, however, very friendly. read hotel review

Small, a bit tight, even though we were only there to sleep. ANYWHERE but we wanted to hang our clothes and luggage storage; -) The decor is quite old and the walls could have used a fresh coat of paint. Our tiny rooms?? faced the courtyard so very quiet.

Great location!!!! Only a short walk away from the subway. If you buy a ticket is very quick in midtown Manhattan. The hostel is also a few minutes from Central Park. On the corner of the blocks are bakery, Starbucks, banks etc.

The rooms are tiny, but that's it yes in New York to If understands German except for the time to clean the room forgot, just below intervenieren, ... Always worked. If you are reasonably acted skillfully had a clean bathroom ( if you can get desried notice). Otherwise: If you as a young time playing football below the Bezirksliga has and accordingly also then took a shower and if girl maybe also once a sport, connected with subsequent showers powered, it is also not that bad as expected: -)

The location is excellent, the West 94th is a very quiet side street. ( The main entrance is NOT in the West 95th!!! ) In the immediate vicinity there is supermarkets, a very good subway connection as well as several snack/stalls, Citibank on the corner of Broadway and 96th deems Traveller/checks (not of course in the US).

The Candy hostel is located in New York City the worst we have ever had in the USA. This was our second long USA travel. After our flight from Frankfurt to New York we arrived on Saturday afternoon 23 05.09 by taxi at the Candy hostel. We went with our luggage right on the front desk and paid $85 plus tax for 4 nights (cash payment only possible), so overall 402 US dollars in cash. We no conditions or any hotel regulations signed. We anticipated a normal room we would get, but unfortunately turned to open the room 112 discomforting. The room or rather former storage had about the scale of about 2 * 2 meters, inside was a double decker bed, which just in the room fit. In the room was only by overhead and the bed. The window was right across the street from the outside, you would have no problems in the room being broke into. You also heard from outside the air conditioning in the rooms from next door. There was no air conditioning in the room, so it was accordingly warm… We wondered why it in the hall to our room until we always was so warm, the Indian family an adjoining remarked, the your door had a piece of wide open, so that the heat of the stove with the flush cooked. It looked as though the family stayed in the long run. As we had our large suitcases with us and could hardly move, we went to this great impressions to the front desk and tried to get you another room. Unfortunately the hotel was overbooked, so we gave us the fate beat on this day and spent a sleepless night heat and noise in the street with the windows open. The next morning, we went to the front desk and wanted to check out and our money back for the remaining 3 days, but the nice lady at the desk told us that it would be no refund. Since we were just from the hostel. We were looking for a new hotel now on the internet. But we wanted for the other three nights at least our money paid too much again. The manager then we wanted to speak to the sunday was of course there wasn't in the hotel. We went to the next morning to the Candy hostel, as we were told the manager would then. The manager was unfortunately not in the house, as we had this monday Memorial Day. So we went back to the hostel on Tuesday and we met the manager who gave us a declare that there was no refund. We were very upset because we just twitted so it didn't become an issue. Afterwards we had to the police Department and asked if there is a legal possibility to get our money back. Unfortunately the Police Officer said we could sue the Candy hostel only, which of course we paid $300 for a bit too much would be too complex. He also said that we in the future in hostels in New York must be careful or better no hostel more book it. The bad thing was that our space at this time we had already paid for was to rent. The hostel has therefore for the storage double member.

The three words we spoke on the day with the people were friendly. Whereas the on 1 On arrival day was something different. We arrived knackered by in the hostel and we were told "no room" but that was fine by us. We wanted our room and decided to be persistent. With success! After an hour discussion we were given a room with the words "you would like the room" yes and we really liked it. There were Etagenbades instead of a private bathroom and a refrigerator.

Unfortunately we didn't pay with credit card and first on arrival found. If you go to New York, you will need usually not an expensive hotel. Breakfast etc. were in the immediate vicinity. Very good is the direct connections to Times Square! Many young people read hotel review

This hostel was the absolute nightmare. In our room, incredible odor. The bed was the hair from the previous guest ... In some hotels there is a bar of chocolate on the pillow, so we were greeted at the Candy a Kakerlak (see pictures). * This was not the only * The sanitary installations are still from the 2 . World War II have been preserved. My advice, and tip 10 -$20 per night more and moving in a hotel (if necessary in New Jersey).. read hotel review
