Baur au lac-the best Zürich has to offer!

After many disappointments in Switzerland we know now finally why the swiss hotel is the best the world shall apply. Who lives here, has the best selected what you as a hotel imagine. The size and the number of rooms i can't say. The house is a classic Grandhotel, the but also the amenities of the 21. century perfectly integrated. It belongs to the leading hotels of the world. We already have visited, but this house carries the title with good reason. International guests, businessmen, jet set, a-celebrities of all ages

I stayed at the Baur au Lac when I was in for Art Basel and cannot speak well enough of the hotel. Wonderful staff, wonderful rooms with sumptuous baths. Breakfast is a must at the hotel, I went down to the pavilion every morning for tea, espresso and Birchermuesli, you also get a small glass of fresh vitamin juice. Another great gem is the wine store in the hotel.

If you can afford it and in Zurich on business to do-there is no alternative to this house. The willingness to help of the concierges literally, the sonntäglicher blowouts a not bring peace. It concerns the nerves of the score as well as excellent, as for the new tire. Chapeau!

This hotels website states it's just had a rennovation. The front desk admitted it was 6-7 years ago. So who knows when it was. While our rooms are spacious the meaning of luxury has not been achieved here. Bathtubs with dripping shower curtains, small tv's, very basic mini bar choices, worn carpeting, two small matresses pushed together to make a larger bed - unfortunatley they slip apart during the nights sleep. I've had the air conditioning on all night and finally opened the balcony doors to let in some cold air, and all the traffic noise.

Everything fine except that the same lapse in service (failure to pick up bags from room) occurred twice during a two-day stay (we left at different times). Even worse, no apologies from staff.
