As a part of my new Zealand tour I have for one night stayed in this hotel. I had (like mostly ) a double room with two big beds for single use. The location of the hotel on the edge the small village punakaiki in a bay at the neuseeländichen West Coast is beautiful. The hotel complex consists of several areas with a central front desk. I was in the complex in first row directly at the beach with view of the sea accommodated. The rooms are very well-kept and spacious, when entering I noticed first the pleasant odor in ... the room on, in new Zealand smell many rooms perhaps because of of the carpet musty, this was not the case at all. All the rooms are in two-story units inappropriate, from the neighbors I have as well as noise (also this is for new Zealand not standard, many accommodations are very badly soundproofed). The room has beside the usual facilities (iron and ironing board, iron, additional pillows- and ceilings, flat screen TV) also a small kitchenette with kettle tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom has a window, the furnishings is elevated, everything very clean. In the restaurant I had with my group A very tasty ( if only lukewarm) three-course dinner, the breakfast buffet was extensive and good. Very nice and courteous service ). To the hotel includes a beach with tidy waves, here you can for Jade find and driftwood admire. Sunbathing is because of the numerous sand flies not recommendable. Except for surfing I would the water because of the high waves prefer not to, there is little further outside a protected Bay, in which you safe to swim.
This hotel belongs to the best, which I entered new Zealand-round trip seen. You have to keep in mind, that punakaiki is not the hub of the world is, except the pancake-rocks (within walking distance in 15 minutes and track easily accessible) and some beautiful Tracks are in the direct surroundings of the hotel nothing really appreciable. For some days but certainly well and gladly here and excursions in the area undertake. read more

All room with a view of the sea. What else could you want? Best of: sunshine. But also without enjoy it here. One must in any case the Pfannkuchenfelsen visit. Overwhelming impressions offers also a hike in the rainforest. One is about 3 hours traveling on a well-signposted circular walk. read more

In February we were - unfortunately just for one night - in punakaiki resort to the pancake rocks. We had booked an eco-lodge, slightly above the main building on the other side the State highways (with us it would a normal road name). The pancake rocks are by car in 2 minutes to reach.
The hotel complex consists of several buildings on both sides the highway, but it is not disturbing, as it from the late afternoon hardly any traffic and because of a tunnel also on foot well be underrun can.
The main building with front desk and restaurant ... is wonderful directly at a bay below the pancake rocks. The frontdesk was very friendly.
To the individual buildings of the hotel one arrives good on foot, partly through the rainforest (of course on Holzwegen ) - just amazing.
Our room was very new and decorated in a friendly style. It was very big and had a great covered balcony. The bathroom was quite small but well equipped and how the whole room in pristine condition. You can really feel very comfortable there.
Due to the location is you almost forced, in the hotel to eat, but very attractive is. The restaurant had a terrific view of the bay, the food is good, the staff friendly and the prices just. From fish'n chips to the filet everything offered. And after eating you can a small walk at the beach Barque-Wonderful.
The breakfast takes place in the same space, in the morning, so you can again admire the views. The breakfast itself is good, the quality of the dishes also. Also here again a good start to the day.
Unfortunately we were only there for e night there. We would have remained gladly longer and can fully recommend the hotel. read more

The resort is directly at the only street here past. There is not much to see except the pancake rocks. Only for this reason the tourists here. The rock formations are nice and the coast great to admire. There is no real town center or a selection of restaurants. You can get a bite in the only bar (punakaiki tavern ) food or in a cafe, the tourist information is attached. The resort is nice done, because it is not a massive construction, but over two-story building is distributed. It is located right at the waterfront or the complex attracts ... also further to the rear. On the other street, the however through a tunnel is. The rooms have balcony or terrace, breakfast there is in the main building. A Coin-Operated Laundry is available. The staff I was rather rude to us. Perhaps you were to spoiled, if you the rest nights rather in persönlicherer atmosphere of bed & breakfast's for. Recommend the hotel already, however there is anyway not really alternatives. read more

The madding crowds yet ocean near the Pancake rocks. The resort is made of hard wood and does room / villas, situated on both sides of the street. We had a room on the beach, there is only walk in some rooms/facilities ( ) and a floor above. The rooms are equipped with all the standard fare, with balcony or terrace. The bathroom is Heatable, the location and is stormy weather will be thankful. We only had breakfast, the restaurant is very nice and certainly has a great view. at all the west coast is fantastic, very rough, but unbelievably ... green. The Pancake Rocks we visited twice, once in a storm and rain and the next day with a beautiful sunshine. Punakaiki is an ideal stop on the way from the north to the glaciers. read more
