The room is small, but functional. You should try, a room with a view of the street to get. But since one anyway the whole day on the way is, it is also no so large role plays. Coincidental way found during our short break in September the new York fashion week opposite the street in the Lincoln center. In the hotel were many employees, models and visitors to the fashion accommodated, so that many mode-conscious interesting people in the lobby were. On the final day our stay was in the lobby even for the tv series gossip girl with a film crew rotated. Thus everything very hip! The lobby was very stylish with gold and leopard-patterns. In the lobby is the wi-fi connection free to use. The hallways in the hotel are rather dark, as without window ... and rather warm. The age I would 25 to 45 will appreciate, rather couple and singles. Unfortunately had the outdoor swimming pool from September closed, although the outdoor temperatures were still 30 celsius were. Cleanliness of the hotel altogether was rather good. The rooms are rather small to medium sized. read more

    Small room only 1 sun and large room 5 suns = so mean 3 suns! Background: On arrival we got a tiny room ( approximately 15 meters² with the number 641, we had two large suitcase and as we auspackten, we had to cross the fith to go to the bathroom. The bathroom was so small, that you are in the shower had to put, the door was open. The air conditioning was loud and the elevator scraped loudly on the wall along. After relevant had complained ( the staff reacted friendly ) we could the room on second day. Our luggage was from the hotel in the new room brought, while we in new york were. The new room was the furniture was almost the same, however significantly larger approximately 22 meters², the air conditioning, tv and bathroom were good. The wi-fi access in the room costs circa 12 Dollar per 24 hours A safe and mini bar it has in every room... If you like it, because a bottle of water from the mini bar costs 9 Dollar! The same is it for 2.99 Dollar next door in the supermarket. Our tip, perhaps a couple of days before another write e-mail or phone, the concrete room to clear up. And no room with the last number 41 walkest, the tiny room next to the elevator.

    All of the staff were friendly and polite. When we on the day of arrival over the small room complained, because it was really mini, responded the staff understanding and helpful. As fashion week and was fully booked, we could the room only after 2 days change and the staff made sure, that our luggage on the new room was brought to our room. This was significantly larger. The cleaning ladies were efficient and friendly. Whether the staff at reception German speaks is me not well-known, I think not really. But they also speak spanish.

    Only three suns, because the pool-area our visit seasonal was closed, from labor day the September, although it outside the whole week really hot and pure sun was. Here you have flexible and on the weather can take. The roof-top bar we didn't use it, since many private parties because of the fashion week taking place.

    The location is really great. In the middle of Manhattan in the upper west side, right between Lincoln center, columus circle and central park. A underground station right nearby and the sightseeing busses from the grey line next to the hotel ( hop on-hop off). And as we went through the tour have learned, is Madonna, beyonce and bono right in the immediate surroundings. Next to the hotel is a starbucks and a small but expensive grocery store. Therefor we recommend ' melissas deli' only a couple of steps further, where you (for new york standards) inexpensive and delicious sandwiches to eat or what hot to take. A bank of America is also just opposite.

This hotel has its best times behind itself. Plus point is the location: 3 minutes on foot from the southern point the Zentralparks away. The furnishing is matter of taste but if nowhere natural light the building comes you feel already uneasy. View to the inner courtyard limited to 3 massive Walls at the bottom day and night the Hotlklimaanlage rattles. The size of the room is more than small so that one with more than a small bag real problems get. Same goes for the toilet / bathroom. All in all it was a experience. read more

We were end of August in the empire and it was perfect. The hotel is very beautiful. Merely the welcoming at the reception was a bit rude. In some spots one noticed that the hotel a makeover needs. Especially in the room respectively in the bathroom peeling paint in many places. The hotel pool looked on the pictures of the homepage also bigger. There was a very nice bar on the roof but only from 21 allowed to. USA typical. ID control. Unfortunately was also that one for the wi-fi pay had good Starbucks right next door was. read more

    The rooms are very small for two people but with everything you need. Unfortunately was no wardrobe in the room available. What is a little difficult, if one or two large suitcase thereby has.     The staff were easily pretentious but that's city. The housekeeping was very friendly. The room was always clean and tidy. Our many shopping bag were also always thrown away. The only thing which strange was, we were as a couple always rooms had but only a toothbrush holder.

    The mini pool on the roof was clean and you could also with rains use as he covered. And you had a super view of the town. Furthermore you could also outdoors sit for the hotel guests a small bar was available. The 2. bar was including and accessible for everybody.     The location from the empire was great right next to the central park and the met. You need only 10 minutes on foot to 5. ave. Starbucks is also on every corner available as well as an atm. The hotel was from the location whump certainly hard to beat. One was right on the Central Park and the subway held right in front of the nose. Lincoln centre and some other sights lay around the corner. The hotel was perfect for this however very expensive and the staff very stressed. What we did not like was, that the whole hotel totally dark decorated. Everything was in dark tones and it was not to our taste. The room was really small and also the bathroom was rather mini. Furthermore was our room very badly soundproofed, so that we neighbors ... the love play were listening. Reasonable value for money unfortunately not! Therefore: Conditionally recommendable! read more

The hotel is cool and very stylish but careful with the rooms! In our case we had to until 17 o'clock wait that it was finished and then we got a smoker's room with 2 single beds? On demand at the front desk the sober information that happens by accident it could all happen that he a smoker's room or 2 single beds get. It was also no-one cared well for us a solution to find! After a night in this completely smoky room we had to 2 room changing before it was okay but the last room had 2 ... single beds. The empire we will probably not see more. read more

The hotel is located directly at the Broadway a block from the central park. The size and equipment room is for new York conditions genuinely okay. Modern furnished, a very tiny, however beautiful bath. The windows were unfortunately totally leaked. But with earplugs you could hear the noise from the street not more.-) you are just great central. You could quickly heat or cool with the air conditioner in the room. The food in the hotel is very expensive. However is directly next to the hotel a Starbucks where you can get nice breakfast. The next Subway station is ... not times 2 minutes away and one is very fast at the Times Square. The staff at the reception was always very friendly and helpful. In the lobby there are free Wi-Fi, as well as in all Starbucks and so on Also restaurants and supermarkets are really close by. For a city break a really nice hotel. read more

Location of the hotel was absolutely great: no matter wether Central Park, opera, Broadway-everything really nearby and easy to reach on foot. The hotel room was well maintained and modern, but the room size for me wasn't acceptable. Opens one suitcase on the ground, there is not enough space to if anything-you have to climb over! The air conditioning was very loud, I found no possibility these regulate. A further negative point was that window: yes, there was a window, but with a view of a in about 2 meters distant wall, the also window had. This fact is one ... actually Gewzungen closed the curtains to let, this made the room a little dark. For one night it was OK, especially because I the room the official price of 300., -EURO paid, but because of a promotion only 125., -EURO. The location is brilliant, but the service leaves much to be desired. You can be positive the location and the cleanliness rate. Otherwise I am as a 'gossip girl' fan on my expense, since the series A Drehtag in the hotel had. Negative to mention are the room size and the bed for 2 people. The air conditioning is very loud and is not issued, the temperature is not properly adjusted. The bed contained merely a blanket for two people and also on repeated demands could no 2. Decke be given. Tickets for evening events with a unwarranted surcharge sold ..., so go to the ticketcenter on Times Square go. The pool is in the winter time not at all open, which we very disappointed. I cannot explain what the other Travelers to this hotel to complain about have, and I guess, that before ever in NYC and at the time of review no comparison possibilities had, because the hotel is top notch. (I have the empire for March 2012 again.) read more

    our room was to the street and for New York proportions very spacious. We had a queen size bed as a couple, which more than adequate and was very comfortable, two bedside tables with lamps, a large armchair (the my girlfriend always has been hijacked, because it is extremely comfortable) a desk with chair, TV, closet and mini bar, telephone and safe -so it was everything available what a tourist in a room needs. the bathroom was quite small, but furnished to a high standard( washbasin, Shelves, shower, toilet) the condition the facilities was excellent. Which I found a little unfortunate, were the cigarette burns (we had a smoker's room) on the window-sill I wonder what some hotel guests are thinking, the interior damage... apart from that everything was in immaculate condition and we in our room very, very, very felt at ease.

    the staff were at any time very friendly and accommodating. My English is very good and I had therefore no problems with people in the hotel to communicate. Abwertiges behavior, the other in his review mentioned, regarding lack of language skills I personally therefore not know, but also from other guests of the hotel not received. (You can some things also really imagine...) the cleaning of the rooms was good-we had every day fresh towels, the room was neatly made and now and then lag as small attention a 'cookie' (we would it as' Americans' designate) on the night tables. All staff (Front desk, bellboys and maids) were very friendly. To The Issue Wi-Fi: Also here I can some complaints not understand -i had in the room over Wi-Fi Access to the internet...

    the hotel is at the upper Westside perfect and very centrally located - 10 minutes to the Time Square with the subway, 2 minutes footpath central Park, Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle around the corner, Metropolitan Opera on the doorstep, as well as Starbucks and Duane Reade drug( supermarket) at the street corner and other options for shopping and cinema in the immediate area. I personally feel in Manhattan on the Upper West the most comfortable and find the environment of the hotel thus very pleasant -we never unsafe or uncomfortable. On the streets is always something going on, everything is wonderful lit and one notices the phenomenon of the people, that you are in a' better Viertel' moves.

Hotel is right on Broadway, just a few minutes walk to the Central park. The hotel was renovated a few years ago, but nothing has changed about the very small rooms, you had hardly any place around case. For those relatively expensive price is a recommendation the room unfortunately not worth it. read more

The hotel is absolutely not worth it. There are many defects such as the much too loud air conditioning which hosts a ton of noise. The hotel is great and has a special atmosphere. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Great is the Sonndendach with lounge chairs and a small pool. Great to relax and cool down after a busy day in the city. The hotel is located across the street from Lincoln Center and all sights of New York from here are great. U-train station directly at the Lincoln Center. A Starbucks coffee shop is just around the corner, as well as supermarkets. We were very pleased. Everything was great! read more

    the rooms are although small, but have everything, which one needs. The bed was brilliant, so I have never slept in a hotel. Unfortunately we had a catastrophic view of the neighboring building 2 meters away (therefore only 5 of 6 stars), but we were not in new York to stay in hotel room from the window to see. The Heat in the rooms and buildings we were blown away in winter, but this is so in NY on the 11st floor. We had every day really loud, roaring air conditioning anschmeißen and fresh air, so that we normal things could bear. As it in the summer is, I dare not contemplate. The bathroom was clean, stylish, although not always practically, the open shower and the washbasin is concerned, from the water because of the stylish flatness not really happening. But all together really beautiful guest room-and I'm very picky, which the cleanliness is concerned!

    We cannot say anything, since we were always outward eaten have, as the food was quite expensive. note is however, that fresh, bright red, polished and a pyramid constructed apples at the front desk was, of which at any time what could take. Great for in between!

    we had a night booked, but the room service was great. The ladies were always hard-working our room chaos again straighten up, have every day the bathrobe again clean on the bed draped. After 2 days we had to smile about ourselves, because we were confused, those of us who have bed 'sleep ready' has done, so the pillows and comforter so clean cleared-the room service was there, as we have said-every evening there was the room service in the rooms and the beds turn down service- this is what I call service! The front desk staff were on hand to offer advice and have good tips given, always nice and friendly!

    Since we were in the winter, the pool deck was closed. The pool bar brilliant -every evening there were people in a long line, the hotel guests had precedence. But we were always went elsewhere, in advance as we have our reservations for the whole week did. A lounge/bar but also more below at the front desk. there was also a spa area, we but also not used have.

    Top location: in the middle of Manhattan, on Broadway, 5 minutes from the central park, 15 minutes to fifth avenue and to the Rockefeller center, in direct vicinity of the opera houses, subway 1 minute walk away, Starbucks downstairs in the building for the morning, 5 minutes from the market in the time Warner center at Columbus Circle. Better it is not!

The hotel is apparently an artist-dosshouse, as it is across from Lincoln Center. A tiny desk, a broken cabinet, 1 (!) hanger. Bed clean and comfortable, air conditioning with mysterious functions. The 'designer' bathroom is a joke. Shower enclosure installed so ridiculously that the entire bathroom is under water at once and threatens to be flooded. Dark, run-down hallways, entrance hall with much kitsch, very uncomfortable. And the hotel is very expensive! read more
