A successful vacation overall in a beautiful country. If you don't set importance on luxury in the hotel the is here at reasonable good value for money accommodated. We had booked all inclusive which we could highly recommend, only the constant sign with the drinks annoying. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating, the gardener for example brought us flowers on our sun lounger. Beach chairs with cushions were always available and if you a couple of days locally was they were from the lifeguards prepared. You should however also not forget, since it is a poor ... country, from time to time the staff a small tip. Just at the beach to be is the country to shame and therefore we have on recommendation our tours all at the beach booked. We can therefore Roy absolutely recommend the us actually almost the entire vacation accompanied. We stayed with him a 4 day trip undertaken, the he great and of course the individual than a fully occupiers coach. Recommendable is definitely a whalewatchingtour what a really impressive experience for us. The prices for the tours are reasonable and cheaper than with the travel agent. Even if you something needed for example. Phone cards for mobile phone (very cheap) got it promptly. Our rooms in the bungalow were tidy but could once again a lick of paint to get. In our room were bugs none. The food in the restaurant we found very good but for us unfortunately not sharp enough which is a matter of taste. The buffet was always good refilled, but the russian guests had nahrungsangst and hauten themselves the plates full and half was junked (sad). A hotel for people who their russian refresh want. 10 german tourist, the rest Ukraine. Noisy until early in the morning. The ukrainian hotel guests could alcohol kartonweise with to the hotel create (with the half-board) and hotel management watched. In all-inclusive there was 1 drinks per room per person. Only empty, then there was another drinks. But naturally everything by note with zimmernummerangabe listed and of course had to also sign up (very, very annoying). This hotel is simply german tourist not suitable. The employees this hotel i felt so sorry for him under this hotel management to work. ... The complex is really nice, the staff very friendly and the food very diverse and tasty. At the beginning, we had a problem with our room - cockroaches, 2 time we have the room changed, but then it was really a lovely stay. One should be aware, that you have a three stars hotel booked and the general standard not Austria-level is. In a bungalow you should at check in point 8., that you already renovated room on the 1. floor. Excursions we did with indi, a beach boy made - is very recommendable the yala national park-indi has so ... lots of animals discovered, which we do not see them-its number +94776207042 Prior to we of the seaside holiday a 4-day tour, one should definitely go on, because Sri Lanka so many beautiful squares to discover: was fantastic the view from the löwenfelsen sygiria and very impressive were the cave temple in dambulla! This is my 2. visit to the Hotel Villa Ocean View. The hotel is medium size, with a very spacious and well-kept area. The guests are not so co-it runs well. There were guests of all ages in the hotel, predominantly russian, but i had thereby not a problem. read more

    Every evening there was something entertainment. Such as disco, shows or karaoke during the day sport (Volleyball, water aerobics, Boccia).     The hotel is approximately 2 hours away from the airport. The next town is well within walking distance. Nevertheless quiet and pleasant location. Train, tuk tuk and public buses are easy to reach, to make excursions.

A very nice hotel is a great hotel but unfortunately not well-kept and very in need of renovation. The rooms are suitable however nothing special clean. Unfortunately are in the hotel very lots of russians what you much notice. If that doesn't bother is in good hands here. The beach is right in front of the door and the staff are very friendly. If you have a reasonable wants a vacation and don't have high expectations is in the right place here. We stiegenn after a 5-day round trip inn this hotel from, unfortunately was this hotel totally from russians crowded. The food hanging us after two days sick, unfortunately no variation and always rice with curry, chicken and Seafood, the whole was not. The bungalows should be a thorough overhaul. The staff were in the large young whole very friendly and helpful. The pool area was very dirty, and the current zettelunterschreiben with an order also in all-inclusive was very annoying! This hotel we could at all not recommend. read more

You have to the country be aware-if you're looking for comfort and nice decorated ambience sets, was no pleasure. Generous plant with bungalows and main hotel. Nice big pool, as well as a large sunbathing area with palm trees toward the sea. Reception and restaurant plain. Plant altogether worn, reonnovierungsbedürftig (some bungalows are currently again been set-no renewal visible, only repair work) and facilities altogether very old-partly uncomfortable and broken. According to the locals was the hotel complex 30 years ago built. The kindness and bemühtheit of the staff (from the gardener to the porter), as well as the excellent ... food are definitely positively mentioned should be. With english one comes through very well, some waiters speak good german. We had all-inclusive-food. Please note: in various public holidays (1-2 per week) there is no meat (not fish) nor alcohol. The entertainment was' hard ', the majority of the guests come presently from Russia (for our stay mostly young angehehme couples). Access to the sea (by gates) is slightly sloping, the sea very warm and in the moment 24 hours extreme waves. Along the access to the sea very pleasant and tried traders/salesmen. Absolute highlight is of the hotel-elephant 'Moni' - daily stay for a few hours on the complex, feed, pet, horse riding (at a charge) possible. read more

    Spacious rooms with small anteroom, sufficient bathroom/toilet and small balcony (was however not inviting enough, to outside to sit) in the bungalow area. At closer inspection in the room even, was especially the insektenstecker and kleiderkasten 'better not to attack'. The light switches are very often with thick schmutzkruste mistake. Simple decent furniture, small flat-screen available. Fan worked-like air-conditioning and light/electric outlets only about contact with your room key during the stay at the bungalow.

    All the food in buffet form - for breakfast and in the evening there is an additional station with service. Food mostly spicy and sharp, for toddlers not really suitable. Mostly dishes typical for the country, but also always international dishes. All expenses are marked with signs. Although Sri Lanka the 'tea-country' is, is only black tea was offered. Only the linen was in the 5 days stay never changed. The restaurant and bar service was very good, also the receptionists were always immediately to the place.

    Of the hotel-entertainer is several times daily and urges unobstrusively to various sport activities in (water polo, Volleyball, water aerobics...). The pool is large enough, the water too hot for sport. In the pool range and to the sea there are showers available, No sunshades- natürichen the shade use! The pool bar is centrally located, the toilett facilities you can also in a few minutes reach. In the outdoor area there is a small shop (with toilet) and in the arcades in the entrance are also 3-4 small shops. Also here are the listed prices negotiable and the staff very nice and endeavored.

    Adjacent to the hotel area were partly broken down former areas, as well as wild nature, private land and small pensions or Ayurveda-hotel. The small section the street in front of the hotel entrance is in the evening /at night as good as not lit, a stroll is generally not recommendable. Opposite the hotel there is a small shop, and a jeweler. Cheap if you a 'tuk-tuk' or a private ausflugstour searches, is in the right place here - by samantha questions, she speaks german! If you like to go out at night, will find here a lift variety. The next town is wadduwa - in a few minutes tuk-tuk ride away. All other larger towns/cities are at least 9 kilometer away.

The rooms were also not too big but since we anyway only for sleeping and showers use was it just perfect. Over the cleanliness one could not complain, every morning there were in all of the corners of staff the complex very well maintained had and in between on the day you saw again and again one or another industrious gardener the hedge trim and so on We had all-inclusive and ... were very satisfied so that. Only drawback was, that one only starting from point ten in the morning and until point eleven in the evening drinks get could and strange was also, for all drinks which one at the time from 10:00 until: o'clock had constantly sign had. That was somewhat annoying, especially since this note always only 2-all at best 3 - drinks could be ordered. The purpose of this was not clear. Even if you evenings for example to 5.     The rooms were big enough, as you anyway only for sleeping and showers need. We were in the main building and had in comparison to bungalows a small fridge and a hair dryer. A safe there were in the room not, however therefor at the front desk, was also ok. Better than no safety deposit box. The rooms were beautifully, if one does not stand on each detail pay attention, because of the high humidity there is now and then times a few problems with rusty castles and railings, but it is not a problem as long as everything was working. Whom it nevertheless should disturb the must to the front desk and then, after a other solution looking for.

    There was a main restaurant and a à la carte restaurant which we but we didn't make use of it had. The food was good and sometimes very hot, so always first slowly and carefully had what you don't know :-). On the cleanliness in the restaurant was also very good, as soon as sometimes was broke or something next to the bowls was very quickly. The food wasn't only typical of the country, but also very european kitchen ajar. It was actually something for everyone.

    The staff were friendly and attentive. Empty plates were always cleared away quickly, only with the drinks has it sometimes longer. Some have speak German, apart from that all spoke English. The waiters also gladly with a maintained and were very responsive. To the cleaning of the rooms we can't negative criticism, always everything clean, often flowers on the bed and really important, nothing was stolen from it. Have often some tip put down, but also without everything worked great. Which us at the start in the room had disturbed, was the shower head was broken, but short at the front desk reported and everything was immediately dealt with.

    As sporting activities there was badminton, tennis, water aerobics, cricket, volleyball, a small fitness room and table tennis. Evenings there was always a program what the entertainers floorlevel. Because the beach open to the public and not private was, were also from time to time local kids for swimming since, but it has one hardly notices. What concerns the cleanliness it was also, here and there lay from time to time times a few bottles and bags around, but not really dramatic. The pool was we like in the early morning used swim a few lenghts, but also otherwise it was good, since we lucky and the hotel quite sparsely populated by tourists. Chairs were always sufficiently available and if you the pool boy now and then times a small tip gave, the cushions and hand towels always brought to your beach chair, great service. Sun screens one had actually no need, unless you lay the whole time by the pool, because on the beach, there was more than enough palms enough shade donate.

    To the beach just a few meters, to the next place a few minutes with the small train, to the airport approximately 2 hours, depending on traffic. The hotel was far and wide the only at the beach and so was the beach also not at all crowded. From time to time were local kids for swimming since, but apart from that only the guests from the hotel and times one or another fishermen. Beachboys and dealers are at the beach also like everywhere to be met, but they were very easy to work with. If you don't want to buy they understood the and left a in peace. Just beware of the man with the apes, because he wanted for pictures with monkeys and snakes believe it or not 20 Euro have! In any case before check what he wanted before you pictures makes. As beachboy I can only podi (he is actually really yanaka ) recommend. With him, we have all excursions and were more than satisfied, he gave us the country from a completely other side shown. With him the holiday was a only adventure! The excursions were cheap and very interesting, as he almost all about Sri Lanka white and if it times which did not know he has immediately research. The communication with him was also very easy as it was very good German and English speaking. No beach available; no animation during the day neither for children yet for adults, bungalow room= absolute Impertinence, Mab could to the bed walk around, service with the drinks in the restaurant= nothing drinks come, if one already with the food is finished -3 weeks long; drinks at the pool bar warm! Reiseleitr FTI only, if you trip will, when concern and complaint only over telephone and very calming, sports room only until 19:00 o'clock open, afterwards Boredom (there is also table tennis and pool), evening entertainment very late and repetitive ( disco, Karaoke, bingo, Filmgucken in English) The ... food like the whole hotel was after 20 years the worst we'have ever experienced (our 1st complaint ) the food was every day the same at noon and in the evening 3 weeks long, no variety. At the weekend are events with local carried out, included pool use! So just 750 people, the also absolutely preferential treatment. Elefantin Monika is positively mentioned should be, the rides costs however and photos make!, but otherwise great to look at. We only stayed one day and one night in this hotel, as this last day a 3 week round trip was. The good first: you are warmly welcomed and you are basically tried hard to please the guests, because of small English knowledge and training of the staff but you should not expect too much. The hotel is altogether in a clean state and everything there, which one needs in such a way. Unfortunately but to lots of things at once noticed, the US for a longer stay already the mood spoiled would: * you will from the staff ( ... even if it 'only' workers in grey tripe are) cigarettes angeschnorrt, is there a was you right for a 2. asked. * at the pool bar there was next to the bar staff also some waiter, but not orders effort, you have to get yourself at the bar. As already so often described, the hotel is a little old. Nevertheless all tried, the guest a pleasant stay to ready. Every morning the large complex clean. The rooms are cleaned daily and bed sheets changed. The ceiling fan looked not so good and under the lampshade lives already times or other Spider. You should way there marriages be able. The air conditioning were rather antique. After the spirit then abandoned, we were immediately in another room accommodated. Breakfast it was a little monotonous, but noon and evening buffet was always rich and delicious. As everyone could find something. It ... was also constantly re-filled. A abgegessenes buffet, we did not even experience! The beach is wonderful and you can 'eternally far' walk. Through the strong surf it is never boring. We can only recommend sometimes by train and the bus to drive. It is a real experience and mockery cheap. Also a trip to Sigiriya is a must. We have a 2 day trip booked, since it was somewhat further away is. We enjoyed it here very much. It is reasonable value for money. The constant moaning we find something high. Very pleasant climate on the complex. No loud activities at night. Own Security at the entrance and from the beach ago day and night. Hotelberieb to HACCP certified, which means high standards. Much staff in kitchen, service, maintenance and yard maintenance; pleasant, unobtrusive animation and entertainment. Many possibilities for excursions can be ordered. Good experiences with the tour operator Roy-Tours (individually, good language skills, has much idea about religion, animals, country information. We had despite some bad reviews on our vacation looking forward to it. But unfortunately we made very bad and bitter experiences. The hotel is very good laid out, the beach is steep and bathing is not completely safe. Our bungalow should urgently be renovated. The food was repeated almost daily; you could after a few days not see more. The worst was however, that one US on the day of departure robbed has. There the safe at the front desk was, we had to on the day of departure the few whatsoever jewelry to the airport transfer in the ... room store. It was in a locked trolley, of the completed large suitcase was. Nevertheless it was stolen. This is in the hotel probably already often happened; information by the hotel or travel guide the high risk of theft was however never done. With the notification of the theft we were treated very rude; they did so, as if we theft invented could have been. The hotel wanted us in Germany call; on this call or even an apology we wait today in vain. Sri Lanka sees us because of the events never again. read more

The complex is great. But unfortunately only the complex. food tasted good, but the selection is very limited. For example breakfast -1 variety cheese and eggs (no sausage or ham or tomatoes and so on). Lunch and evenings - rice and pasta + 1 times fish + 1 times chicken and from time to time Knochenfettiges meat. Cleanliness - we have no problem. At the beginning we have molded bungalows but after 2 hours we moved and was OK. Animation - Real Zero. The guys have great job, the beep nothing at all. Excursions! We all have excursions with INDI ... made. Trinkomale (super as Maldives), Yala national park live panthers and wild elephant family seen, river cruise and turtles farm and Wassrfall. INDI is a great guy speaks good German. You need a phone card, spices or do you problem go to INDI. On this body INDI stay keep it up. Super! read more

Sri Lanka is very nice, came after a week round trip to this hotel. It has its best years behind it. On arrival it smelled mold, but after strong air was better. In the rooms does not depend on a still picture there are any part not chipped or damaged. The staff tried with few resources they have to cleanliness. The food is tasty and there is something for everyone. For each drinks you have to sign, because some with AI not their comrades can leave with half board/ overnight stay with breakfast. With catering. 75% Russians. At the pool ... bar there is only limited places to sit, the tables are with a greasy Manner, as they do not wiped off. Chairs on the beach partly broken, by the pool there was only the the guests anschleppten. Sun screens does not exist. The staff are friendly, with tips läuft's. Unfortunately with beckets, initially night's, later overt day hunts on the innocent dogs made to' vaccinate! ', it disappeared a puppy and several large on Nimmerwiedersehen. On the whole a lovely area. Also the beach is good and you always had a place in the shade if you want it. And with a dollar (or 100 rupees) on the day you got your beach chair at desired place reserved. The cleanliness on the rooms could be better. You shouldn't look into the corners. But our beds were always fresh and clean. The largest problem for us were the Russians. In the first week our vacation it went still. But from the second some which have no behavior at the table had. One came with bare to ... the waist to eat, the other with a beer bottle in his hand. The table by a young couples looked after dinner from, as if the pigs have eaten. Some did not consider it necessary in the row and drängelten themselves before. The plates were full as there was no tomorrow. Also the tables were fully with food provided, there was everything on it. Soup, salad, main course and also dessert. After the Russians with the salad buffet were ready to leave refilled and cleaned. There was but also what the behavior could. And the Hundehasser. The animals can do anything about it so that you are there. The only their natural instinct to. If you want a little consider the white why the animals the native bark. After the round trip in Sri Lanka, which really great was, we moved in a run down hotel. The rooms are urgently in need of renovation. We inhabited initially a room on the ground floor ( bungalow). In the bathroom it smelled musty, which also the towels this odor recordings. Furthermore was also already the mold from. After we this situation at the front desk come and get a room on the top floor asked, we could then no longer a problem change. The staff are very friendly and always caution, the stay of the guests as pleasant as possible ... designed. The food and the variety of the dishes was commendable. There were for all meal times lots of different Kinds of meat, vegetables, fruit, Rice, salad. Especially great the desserts arranged. The sight was always a feast for the eyes. The complex even has from the staff very clean held. With a few downsides, what the live there in the hotel concerned, was the vacation very nice. read more
