I was with the hotel totally satisfied. But was the value for money not alright. Sydney is a very expensive city, but for the money you could expect more. The hotel itself is but very clean and the staff very helpful. From the hotel opera's one around 40 to 50 minutes. But you will find very lots of interesting things the way very amusing make. Would, if the price would be better, come back to this hotel. read more

We had booked a smoking room with two beds, when we got there everything was occupied, and we were given a smoking room not. They promised us to change the room the next day, simply only the bags and leave again on the room. The next evening when we returned to the hotel again, the lady at the reception only then started to look at, if our room is a free choice, of course, was not. then Ross turned on, the boss of the reception and suggested an extra bed in a smoking room with a bed to posts: great ... idea said and done: in the room we arrived it turned out the firm bed with a steel folding was creaking Springs, the was not! Hardly sleep found! The next day we have complained then us very clearly and got us back then it three nights our room to be the last. The room was really good, large, two large beds! The location of the hotel is class, centrally located and only ten minutes to walk to darling Harbor! Excellent and therefore to mention is the work of the concierge! read more

The hotel is located in the immediate vicinity of the train station in Sydney. From there you can easily all Sydney attractions, and also outside, such as the blue mountains, reach. Also to foot the city is easy to explore. The Sydney Opera house, you need to walk about 45 minute. For grocery shopping, one should avoid on larger supermarkets (such as Woolworths on George street), because the small shops in the immediate vicinity are something overpriced. read more

As said: very recommendable hotel, something expensive, what but apparently normal is for Sydney. The pool is not so great, room a bit small, but compared to other hotels in Sydney is probably OK (for the class of the hotel). The hotel is located next to the main railway station of Sydney. Within a hour to walk to all major sights and worth it also to foot by Sydney to stroll. The staff at the reception was very nice and helpful. The breakfast in the hotel was very good with a wide selection, but has something few tables to the peak times, so that one had to wait. The dinner was excellent. The room was very beautiful decorated, had two large beds and was otherwise also the size was pleasant. The pool and the fitness room under the roof are ... on the small side and something of a short flight of stairs to reach something of an inconvenience. Conclusion: a hotel to visit Sydney read more

With our room we had sadly not so good luck. The room itself is fine. It is big enough, two twin beds (very comfortable), a bedside table in the middle, a refrigerator, a kettle including accessories, a closet, a TV, air-conditioning, a desk with desk chair and a stool. Unfortunately had to uneventful-in the bathroom was a bit. We couldn't exactly mind, where the smell, but probably au the bath. In addition, the faucet in the bathroom leaked even with the door closed you could hear or in the room. We have a towel on. Still everything was really clean and nicely equipped. I would stay here again.

Nice city hotel 'down under' archived

The hotel is located about 1 kilometer from the centre of Sydney and is the usual 'Mercure' quality. Everything is very clean and newly furnished; exception was the bathroom there, that of the tiles and fixtures but seems a bit older. The beds are very good; bedarfsweise You can also order special pillows. The breakfast buffet is extensive and offers a good price/performance ratio in contrast to have breakfast, which is in nearby cafes Alternatively you can take advantage of. The selection of dishes in the restaurant for dinner, however, is rather modest; however, the quality and the taste very ... good. Friendliness and service in the house capitalized everywhere. Handling of complaints is not a problem; I had such as in the first day insisted on a new room. The service was above average. Both buses, and trains in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The central station is only five minutes walk away. Nevertheless, one couldn't hear the train noise or the like. General is, of course, the window rather thin and street noise can-depending on the floor into our room. In the vicinity little shops, and only a few entertainment possibilities. The nice area located on the darlin harbor is in about 20 minutes on foot. Internet access is available at an additional cost in the rooms, however, I was alarmed by the availability and speed negatively. No comparison to the internetverfügbarkeit in European hotels (don't know, if that was the hotel or to Australia is). Pool and gym are available, although both extremely small size. The only drawback was, that you failed to deliver, to the balcony from spiders in my room and spider webs. As it in Australia only so from poison spiders abound, I had a very booking into and always kept the balcony. However, only 13 rooms in the hotel we have a balcony. The windows in the other rooms are not öffenbar, which based on a good working a/c but also not necessary. Overall the hotel is highly recommended. Tip: adequate budget plan. I found Sydney extremely expensive. read more

The hotel is big with about 500 rooms in a tower. Everything neat and clean, but average decorated. The guests were mixed, lots of tourists and business people. Some Airlines are here regular. In the lobby a weree lighted wall, which has a bar tucked away behind. In the evenings after 10:00 PM you can be at this hotel with the key card enter; the front desk is but always occupied. Overall 6 elevators, short wait time. Large underground garage. read more

There are several room categories. I had a "standard" room, spacious and well-appointed, completely enough for one person. Double bed with firm mattress, good air conditioning. medium-sized bathroom, everything was clean. Good soundproofing. Internet access in your room, but extremely expensive; per day, per hour 20 AUD 10 AUD (! ). The mini bar was also available, but almost empty; drinks you can buy in vending machines in the hallway outside the door; there are also lots of small markets.

The breakfast in the hotel at the Four Elements restaurant as a full breakfast AUD 25 which I think overpriced. You have children in the room, then the breakfast for you will also be included in the price. The variety and quality of the food is good, and everything was delicious and clean. But just outside the door, there's enough coffeeshops and bars, where you for AUD 10-15 per person as good breakfast.

Service is very good overall. The staff was friendly, very helpful and competent. Check-in/check-out are quick and easy. Restaurant service also good, at least at breakfast; room service is tidy and unobtrusive. At the front desk are numerous excursions to book, as well as lots of info. After reading the bill to have sat in the lobby, I found the very friendly receptionist again and on a small discount attentive made which they had charged or credited me. There were only 12 AUD, but I have found it very fair; you could not have loved it.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city. From upper floors great views over the city. The location is convenient for tourists, some attractions are within walking distance, several buses in front of the hotel, close to the train station. Plenty of bars and places to eat within walking distance; on busy George Street countless shops. Despite Near Train Station makes you feel at ease and safe even at night. The Kingsford Smith airport, there is a comfortable shuttle bus every 30 minutes, cost for example 14 AUD; book early.

The room was booked without catering, but had breakfast at "full service" '(buffet)2 times. I personally loved it to me a nice table was offered, toward the window. The buffet itself, were warm foods (sausage, fried rice, scrambled eggs, beans, etc. ) and cold (jam, honey, peanut butter, fruit, cereal, yogurt). There was bread, rolls, the not sticky, croissant, toast. A coffee fully automatic Slicer was available, had diverse possibilities to select a coffee. Only the price didn't bother me, otherwise I would have made the would want, tip, just in a nice cafe, and breakfast, whether Darling Harbor, ect. ... You can have breakfast for 6-10 a$. great value for money would be dinner in the so-called "foodstores" which was delicious and rich, prices from 5 A$11A up to a maximum of $. The hotel is right beside the main railway station of Sydney, at the beginning of the large George Street. This leads to the Circular Quay, well worth a walk. Chinatown is right around the corner. We booked through a special on the Accor website a superior room with breakfast - against payment in advance. The 1985 . Continually updated is mixed, some Asian Airlines have their crew. read more

We had a "Queen superior" with sensational view in the city. Only a shame that the disks were really very, very dirty. From the style simple, but comfortable. The bathroom was more than a wet room and sufficiently equipped. But the lack of toilet brush sketchy. In the wall mounted shower head sets each taller than 1,85 meters a particular sporting challenge.

We only used the breakfast. The breakfast room was very dark and had cafeteria-like. Good thing is that you have to fight the square, but not even accompanied to the table. The 1970 's many miscommunication. The breakfast was good, hot and cold meals, fruit, juices, tea and coffee. Different kinds of bread, which as often the German Schwarzbrotseele that shakes. $25 As without advance retrospectively from the hotel requires, but I would not.

And here is the rub. We have umming and arring about where to stay for if it was the time of the deposit. Free after the motto: We have your money you we do not need them! Before booking I sent an email requested at the room for an earlier before 14h is possible. After a long flight is a shower with younger than didn't hurt. Answer me that this would be a problem to availability of course. realize that cannot be guaranteed. But it sounded confident. 9 :30 a.m. we arrived at the hotel at bodies. No, the room is not yet finished, around 11 be it won't be a problem. So we were assured by the lady at the front desk. Now, Anyway. Luggage, I discovered a short stroll to the attunement. Just before 11 we were back, short inquiry. The lady recognized us not stay, asked again after the name. No, oh, the would sometimes. After an hour in the lobby - visual contact with the front desk/further request. Stay forgot the name. Hm, no, there is still did not have the dates. Shortly before one barged then turn to the collar. After a few indirect phone calls we eventually got a room. Other than that everything was freshly cleaned, we had a maintenance service cart was far away at the other end of the hallway. Oh, just as not quite there. Where are our bags? The tingelten with the concierge half an hour through the house. An apology was for anything, finally we had already paid. If this was not the case, we would have already our luggage after a short time and were in another hotel. Since the receptionist was always schnippischer. These rates but are so cheap ... I would not go back! Another problem occured after the first room cleaning. Middle of the cover prangte a thick blood stain. That was really not to be overlooked. The hous service called understood after 3 attempts, what I wanted. A maid they sent as she this spot obviously very embarrassing. New linens, ready. The rest of cleaning of the room was ok, the usual through the body hair in the bathroom was only a little the cultures worse than normal.

The walk to the "important" points such as Circular Quay and the Opera House is a bit far. However, Darling Harbor could be reached by foot in 10 minutes, and the evening stroll through Chinatown is worth it. The proximity to the train station is not mandatory. After we from the international airport by train ($15 per person for 3 stops), the return trip we have comfortable leaving for taxi for about 25 dollars. Around the hotel are spread over 24 -hour shops and famous Schnellimbissketten.

We stayed for four nights at the Mercure and had a great time. The hotel is in a great starting point to the train station, thus leading to all public transport, what the discover Sydney much easier. All tourist buses and the free 555 also stop at the train station. The front desk can help with planning and was generally always very helpful. For excursions booked through the hotel you will also picked up directly in the lobby! The room was large, clean, modern and you could make tea and coffee cook for yourself. A vending machine with cold drinks ... were available on each floor. The few euros extra for the room with city view was definitely worth it! It has a great view of the George and Pitt street. Great Hotel-would definitely recommend! read more
