Family-run hotel with very friendly staff. We felt at ease.
A few small points of criticism i want nevertheless note:
We had a room with a sea view. But instead of the noise of the waves were often loud fan noise (humming) from the pool area to hear.
Currently, it is up to hotels probably in the trend in the bathrooms stylish sliding glass doors to, so also in the galosol. The sound proofing to this doors goes unfortunately against nothing. People for their ' shops ' privacy search will do a little uneasy, especially at night.
In the bathroom ... also much too small water tap disturbed, which just to the edge of the washbasin enough.
In fitness area we had to state, some of device no longer the current standard. Two existing cross-trainers were two broken. read more

We were in the 4 stars galosol ( there are 3 houses three stars; 4 star sports hotel galosol and 4 stars atlantico). Galosol the best.
Size and location of the hotel great. No mass processing.
Terrace with a pool, with a view of the atlantic ocean ( 1. row), with the sun for breakfast, with a little green, loungers, swing. It is nothing missing.
Room renovated. Great. Bathroom with large bodenebener shower ( water tap at the washbasin too little swing, could hardly the hands under the water, but that diminishes the feel good factor not).
Premises for the ... food also renovated. Had half board. Breakfast great. Dinner a bit fish annoying (for me super-for the love sometimes unfortunately, he could have had the salads loved, but with mussels -has nevertheless not decreased-grins).
Wellness included, sauna, indoor pool ( small pool-nothing for swimmer), big fitness area.
Stop for bus to Funchal not far (bus 15 minutes). Rental car is recommendable. It is easily accessible by TomTom all hiking easy.
Weather was perfect. 7 days sun, blue sky ( in the mountains pull starting from noon the clouds -10:00 a. m. on starting point the hikes -in the afternoon the sun on the terrace of the hotel - coffee and cake between 15:00 and 4:00 p. m. = 3 €).
In 4 hours from the grey in the spring Madeira! In the galosol you can feel at ease. It does not Riu his. read more

Through and through a very good hotel with a great sports offer in a magnificent location. Wonderful the rooms with a direct view of the sea!
Only drawback and a suggestion:
- the breakfast buffet is after 3 days boring, because despite a good deal always the same there is. Since one knows better in 4 * accommodation.
- suggestion: the one in the age of the internet in a 4 star hotel for the access numbers is also from yesterday. read more

Very beautiful hotel under german management. At the front desk everyone could speak german. Great! I think you need a car however a bus stop is also not far. Parking abundant and also free of charge. read more

Am in the hotel 'repeaters and come again. Enjoy the consistent attention and friendliness of the staff in all areas, the cleanliness of the hotel, in and around the whole hotel, as well as meeresbadeanlage, the lack of hustle and bustle, traffic noise and the wilder bustle. Have already tried a lot with this hotel as a starting point: bus routes on the whole island, simple but beautiful levada walks, an unforgettable incredible and just relax. If ... you need more action, continues in the bus, stop in front of the hotel, and runs to Funchal. A nice, family-run hotel like it, if one was not too demanding. Who else 3 * bay, would be delighted. Who rather 5 stars standard is used, will be surprised, how much a star less can represent. At least, one put in the effort. The hotel is clean, the staff (hard) friendly, in the restaurant and at the front desk if needed speak german. Finally, everything very well maintained average.
But the question: why is it sport?
Because a public fitness center is attached, of course first of all used by locals? These are, therefore, in the heart of, as ... a hotel guest you feel at best friendly tolerated. An introduction to the equipment or recommendations stayed, the supposedly on english held fitness class on portuguese in progress.
The majority of of the guests seemed but also not at all because of the alleged sporting activities booked-most are limited to the hiking and stoffwechseln. Therefore, any sports like-minded.
The spa area is. So well. The pedicure-lady was very nice, but only moderate able. In the background dudelte the whole time a portuguese radio stations under constant noises. The reki -lady was friendly, but their cd with relaxation music had a crack, the stony ignored.
The family of hoteliers include a aktivitätenanbieter ( loko loko ), but the office was rarely occupied, so you ill-advised.
What the food subject - especially the atmosphere shines through kalorienlastigkeit. No matter wether meat, fish, rice, potatoes or pasta-almost all in cream or oil. Mostly everything is overcooked or only half done, meat incredibly dry. And in the most favourable case everything only lukewarm on the plate. Very bad bread and rolls from a german perspective.
Although the hotel newly renovated is, can the eye not quite with holidays-the new decor doesn't so right to the remainders of the remaining 80-years-charm, since meeting a variety of veneers and finishes co, the christmas lights shows little style, at the pool and sea water bath is possible unpleasant plastic with clear signs of usage. And so forth
If you're not picky, the food tolerate and a little bored of use, only! Otherwise 5 stars in one of the newer hotel in Funchal choose. read more

We had one of the 2 large suites. There (bathroom!) Is like at some other bodies in the hotel ( for example. Sauna) urgently in need of renovation.
Staff always friendly and concerned without being pushy.
Food is after a week boring, one knows everything. Often missing the hook, reminded me of a bad diet. Breakfast is still expandable.
Was the complaining of a high standard, but i am told by a highly acclaimed and excellent hotel expected more. read more

We were there at the beginning of november 2012 in this hotel (galosol). The hotel is situated right at the sea with its own free lido in the rocks. They could/we wanted to due to the season not use. The lido is located only a few meters away from the hotel or is situated in the resort, as finally, other 2 other hotels the galo resort offers. Internet at the hotel computers are free of charge, for quickly check your e-mails etc. To check (more or less direct in the lobby).
The renovated rooms (which we on demand received: staff ... very cooperative), lag behind the front desk and had a partial view of the ocean with a balcony. The room was really big and tasty furnished (unfortunately were missing pictures on the wall). The bathroom super new and totally modern. For the safe we unfortunately had to a fee, of about 1,50 Euro per day (should be in a 4 star hotel).
The breakfast was good and well stocked. The dinner (buffet) was always tasty, warm and is rather good, instead of meat annoying laid out (Madeira is an island). It is also once a week an à la carte menu. We always in the main building eaten, never fish restaurant. Lunch we either on the way something to eat, were in the pizzeria at the resort, or by the pool. All invoices you can, if you want on the room number write let.
The hotel include a indoor swimming pool, sauna and fitness centre. This is also open to the public for the population. The use of these facilities is free for the hotel resident. The furnishing is completely ok, but it is not new, as you might with us in the fitness centre is used.
In sum we can recommend this hotel with a clear conscience. Madeira is a very beautiful island. read more

Hotel with lots of activities and organized excursions, low average age
In comparison to other Madeira-hotels.
There are different double room, renovated, new designed room in the main building and other below the pool area. The pictures in the website show only the renovated room. These are modern furnished, but rather small and not very sound proof, the bathroom with shower, but there is also which with a bath (shelf space limited).
The room doors because of the kind of-the room close quietly, so you every guest, the room left, the loud bang of the door can hear.
From this ... (renovated) great view of the sea, if such a room booked.
Not renovated room below the pool range are significantly larger,
Also the bathroom (shower curtain plastic ), view of the sea limited, at side.
Wi-fi only in the hall, as well as in the pool area and only for a fee (only 1 computer with internet available). In-room safe also only with fee.
There was always enough chairs and umbrellas by the pool, water cold. For pool towels there is a vouchers per person, at the check-in for these the room calculation €30, -as deposit loaded, who the vouchers to check out not returns is charged per towels € 30,-; strange, that old/a worn-out towels such a value to. All front desk employee spoke good german, friendly, attentive, applying for room changing despite short stay fulfilled.
Buffet costs €23, -, who more than 3 times eats, receives 20% discount (at the beginning of october). Tasted, in

We were very satisfied and can these hotel recommend. Very friendly service- and reception staff. Nearly all of them could speak German and English.
Everything was very clean. Breakfast buffet was perfect. Many different, delicious breads!
Half board we had not.
We have totally quiet and a good nights sleep. Traffic connection to Funchal is optimal. read more

The double directly next to the reception was perfect reasonable. First concerns the proximity the front desk were not be confirmed. Unfortunately you can doors not geräuchlos close, you must at the end a bang, what you hear.
Every day was cleaned, unfortunately was here and there times a small stain in the towels. Otherwise worked the room quite new.
A small minibar was available, a safe also, the however for 1,50 Euro per day completely overpriced and our opinion outrageous is.
The guests were to 99% germans, here and there times an austrian and from the french-speaking area. ...

The hotel and the vacation were simply brilliant.
Breakfast in the hotel is very delicious.
For dinner there are enough other alternative.
Pizzeria at the hotel is top!
Sports and leisure offers are unbeatable.
We recommend to 100% further.
The only fault was the adjacent diving school. Most teacher are very stressed and unfriendly.
Sport hotel galosol is however in any case a dream and offers real vacation feeling!

Were clearly 4 stars. The public fitness center, which the guests from galosol hotel free use, offers plenty of sports facilities. Weight loss by Spinningkurse, Thai Bo, yoga, strength training and so on especially is the fish restaurant recommendable, the galosol hotel belongs. Very good fish dishes with a great view on the sea. That was definitely not our last vacation in the galosol hotel - very recommendable. read more

It is a beautiful, quiet complex. Relaxation by the pool without loud music. Dinner is not good, you got full, but it was never delicious. We were often eat out, the possibilities there are a lot of.
