The Hotel Royal is a relatively small hotel, the directly at the badischer bahnhof train station in Basel is. In the building is the 4. floor hotel, the lower floors will be used. The rooms have a good size and are decorated up to date. This is the first hotel, in which i have no contact with the staff had, because the check in with simultaneous payment and purchase of the key is to be made upon arrival the hotel at an automat (which i didn't negative rate). Free wi-fi is also available. read more

    The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped with flat screen tv, telephone, minibar with free water and Cola, nespresso machine, kettle, iron and ironing board, and safe. Free, if also not completely undisturbed ongoing wi-fi available. The rooms have a well-being feeling character, even if a bit circular is. Also the bathroom is very well maintained.

    I can only the cleaning of the rooms judge, since the front desk only by telephone attainable is. There the building unfortunately also inside very circular is, could be a small problem. I heard every word of my zimmernachbars, the obviously through its computer a conversation with another person run. I would help from the staff needs, to make it quieter, it would be simply not have been possible. The cleaning of the rooms done thoroughly. It's all clean and neat. The service alone would have 6 suns. A sun i give for not current hotel info. Since the introduction of automatic check-in obviously only recently took place, the information has not yet been updated.

    As mentioned, is the building directly at the badischer bahnhof train station. Thus one hears 5a 24 hours clear sounds of the tram, as this before the house a 90 degrees turn drives. As this noise even with the windows closed strongly heard, i recommend guests, as i extremely are sensitive, a higher category as the standard rooms to book, since the szandardzimmer all to the street are. The location of course clear benefits. Train, bus and tram are right on your doorstep. The garage baden train station is right around the corner. The messe Basel is within a few minutes walking on foot distance.

The Hotel Royale now has a machine to check in and not longer a reception. The check in booth is outside in the cold and you have to be very smart to have ready your hotel booking, your passport number, your Master card and face the cold wind while all this is being accepted by the machine. Add to that the possiblitity of being robbed as you have everything precious in your hands whilst trying to manage the steps of what the computer asks you. No human being at the reception is a loss for this hotel. And not practical. read more

The Royal is heavily influenced by modern styling and decorated with clean simple lines and bold artwork. The hotel offers a complete service with great rooms, nice breakfast, free wifi, and great service. read more

    The rooms are the best thing about the Royal. The are extremely spacious by any hotel standards and some of them are outright huge. Furnished in a Scandinavian style, they feature wood floors and modern bathroom fittings. The free soft drinks in the fridge are a nice touch in a world where you usually get charged for just looking at the mini bar.

    Being a small hotel, the service is excellent. I've stayed multiple times and they easily remember me and put out my favourite cereal in the mornings.

    The hotel is located next to the German railway station, which is convenient to just about anywhere in Basel with it's extensive tram and bus links. Don't worry that the hotel is out of the city center. To stay there, you pay a big premium when it's only an easy 10 minute bus/tram ride away. There aren't a lot of restaurants near the hotel, so be prepared to venture up to Mezzeplatz where there are plenty of options.

High comfort and ambience, with NESPRESSO coffee/coffee maker, tel/fax, free wireless. Pleasant distance on foot or tram to the fair. Wood parquet and, on request, also special bed material to an ideal solution for asthmatics. read more

The entire interior of the hotel, the room and at the breakfast were the choice to 100% for my taste-I have never felt so comfortable on a business trip, as in this hotel. read more

The Service is extraordinarily good and friendly. The hotel has only a few rooms and thus the atmosphere is nice. WLAN access is for free. An espresso machine is available in the room, soft driks are for free. The airconditioning is not very loud. That is advantageous as the train station is facing the hotel and opening the windows at night is not a good option. read more

Very comfortable hotel in contemporary style. There are not many rooms, but they are of a good size and quiet, given the fact that it is so close to a train station.     Rooms are very comfortable. I slept well on the firm bed. As stated, the TV is too small, but that is the only thing that bothered me. An espresso machine is provided as well as some soft drinks in the mini bar (which was also very useful to store some of my own things. Bathroom is very useful and big enough.

    The hotel is opposite the german train station and is very well connected via public transport. A travel pass for public transport is provided, so it is very easy to hop on the tram and go to the city centre (although I have found myself walking the distance which took me about 25 minutes). The congress centre is two stops away (or ten minutes walk).
