This was our third visit to the Tropitel so we were welcomed warmly as 'VIP' guests by George on reception.Having already emailed to request a room overlooking the sea, we had a personal reply from Brigitte, the new manager, and this had been done for us! This hotel and its staff are wonderful, making it such a relaxing and enjoyable break, which is why we will keep going back! Nothing is too much trouble, all the staff are friendly, polite and helpful, and you really do get the 'personal' touch, and they genuinely want you to have a lovely ... holiday! The hotel, pool and grounds are clean and well maintained, and the staff work long hours but are always friendly and happy to chat. The food is very good, and the chefs are very friendly. The restaurant is small but clean and although the food is a bit repetitive it is always hot and well cooked.Special mention to Amyl who makes fantastic omelettes every morning, and to Sharl our favourite waiter/barman who we've see every year and is like an old friend now! The town is very small, and there is a free shuttle bus which takes about 15 mins. The Blue Hole which is about 2 miles along the beach is good for diving, which is very popular, as is snorkelling, which you can do from the hotel jetty. The beach is quite rocky so not good for paddling, but the hotel pool is lovely. This hotel is perfect for a relaxing lazy break, but with no entertainment and being quite isolated and quiet it's not the place for you if you want something more lively! We will be back next year! read more

Good hotel, in some areas a bit dirty-could be 'swept' will. If only half as much trouble with the rest as in the maintenance of the green areas is invested, the optically some bring.
Food is good quality, but to 90% every day the same. For breakfast rather too 100%. After a week one longs oneself to a few restaurants nearby, the but it's not. The hotel is the 'last' (geographically) hotel in dahab. Ideal for people looking for peace and the best surfers or divers. One of the good hotels in dahab. All around many building ruins where probably ... already longer is doing nothing. On the way there one drives by bus through the 'ghetto' of dahab. You have to live. Generally around the roads very filthy etc.
The staff themselves is nice and humorous. On wednesdays there is a beduinedinner (extra cost). All-inclusive is worthwhile only partially-the all-inclusive beer is drinkable, apparently but light. The alcoholic beverages/ cocktails are getting used to (instant juice and so on).
The other guests there were german, british (50%) and russians (30%).
Food is for a maximum of a couple of days right-there are many nicer reefs, at least at the hotel. It is worthwhile safe for blue hole or similar to drive. read more

Maximum 2 stars! Badly in need of renovation

The hotel has undoubtedly its best days were already long, long time ago.
For homogeneous opinion of all guests with whom we spoke and the were many, is the whole hotel exceptionally fully cored and newly constructed.
We are hitting not picky and give us with simple rooms satisfied, but what we expected was crying to heaven. The locations of german tour operators and then added to the relatively extortionate prices is equally incomprehensible as a recommendation by 92% with holiday check.
We have the first room immediately denied and the 2. just for one night card accepted, as an ... acceptable ('freshly renovated') from 2. day assured-otherwise we would have immediately into another hotel changed. But too early been pleased-the ' renovated ' room was only partly freshly painted, everything else remained virtually unchanged. Even the shower came through the floor drain back and brought a dirt water height of up to 3 centimeter in the bathroom.
Just the pictures reputation, which are offered here: dirt in all the corners, zertretenes bugs (is on days despite daily 'cleaning'), rusty, calcified, partly not functional shower attachments/counters, long-term-dirty light switches/ klimaanlagensteuerung and many more
All this helps but the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. At the front desk was mostly german, in the service one came with english well. The food was usually cold, but it was diverse, tasty and bearable (no diarrhea).
However also here a large drawback: daily only one and always the same sort of sausage, which tasted in the direction tofu and thus for most extremely disgusting. A particular bird shot be the hotel management so, that it is a small bottle of water when we were, which was then 2 weeks at the water dispenser refill should (hygiene?), or customary expensive money at the bar buy-we are talking of all inclusive! Insiders will know-to brush your teeth no tap water, otherwise diarrhea!
For exits to batch go. Although it is expensive, but its (sometimes annoying) fairy tale in running german or english is quite amusing.
For matching give a tip it also beautiful made beds, but they mopped in the rooms never-only swept. Towels were changed ok, noise not by guests, possibly through dust collector of the kitchen, which day and night weekend. Everything zahlungspflichtige in the hotel grossly overpriced, internet. read more

Relaxing and quiet vacation in dahab

Really recommendable for people who silent and peace search as it is far away from the town of dahab lies. It is a several times daily shuttle service, which however partly to the meal times take place.
From the state of the hotel, cleanliness, friendliness and quality of the food it is really recommendable.
Sporting activities are limited on diving, snorkeling and swimming.
As a guest you should in any case vorkehr for mückenangriffe not beschreiblicher form take. Here is the only point of criticism %blank%. Instead of only with pesticides against manner which in a way be the one ... thinks the whole hotel burns, rich perhaps also mosquito nets which one before the windows make can.
Disadvantage, but not completely so are the crazy high prices for wi-fi, which only in the entrance hall receivable is if interested or need are certainly itself precaution which is for cheap prices is possible. read more

It was our 2. time in this hotel and will gladly come again. Unfortunately has the food opposite the previous year in our opinion neglected. There was always something for everyone but the quality has significantly decreased. A shortcoming were the very hard mattresses. There should be remedy. Apart from that we again all around felt comfortable. The staff are brilliant and always anxious, the vacations to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Peace and relaxation pur. A greeting also to batch. He is the tour guide in this hotel. With him you should your excursions book. He makes ... the really great. All together, a successful relaxing vacation. Until at the latest next year. read more

This is our new hotel. But two things should be be improved: at night we were greeted by the mosquitoes eaten. 134 bites. You should the breeding places and they fight. However please do not poison in the rooms.
Next to the main entrance is a building from two chimneys tower. From which smoke often acerbic smelly diesel fumes. Depending on how the wind is available, smells it then in the rooms and in the garden after fumes. There should be a soot filters are installed, because the particles is very unhealthy. read more

Very recommendable!
This was our 2. time in this hotel and can only positive reports! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very relaxing, as no entertainers, for children probably a bit boring. Those who seek peace and quiet, you'll find right there! We had all-inclusive, but on the final day the romatic dinner taken into account - for the farewell. The €60.00 for two were worth every penny. Ramps for wheelchair users are everywhere available. Dahab in 8 km distance, the free shuttle bus several times daily within easy reach. We will gladly again next year!

This hotel is a little Red Sea Gem. If you looking for a relaxing friendly hotel, yet close enough to Dahab and Sinai attractions look no further. The beach front location, excellent meals and authentic atmosphere ensures an enjoyable stay. Many of the people that I spoke with were like myself, a returning guest.
Dahab village itself is charming with many seafront restaurants and bars, but it is fairly laid back so not suitable if you prefer busy resorts such as Sharm.. read more

Small, clean and pleasant quiet hotel.
Double part with separate beds or a double bed.
All inclusive means, that you at the beginning of 2 small bottles of water is, the one definitely again to fill. Great idea, since clearly less garbage is produced.
Besides that as always: drinks free, all three meals in buffet form and without crush!
Rather older age from England, Holland, Germany and very few russians.
No animation read more

Although all inclusive, had water can be bought.
Internet-wi-fi-is available, but with 6 Euro per hour way too expensive.
Guests of all ages, especially english, dutch, russians and germans. read more

For the price we paid, the hotel was reasonable. Is an outdated hotel, which times new painting and decor get needs. Also in the dining room could be changed. Glasses there are rarity. Wine one got almost never in wine glasses, but thick normal glasses. You want to book an excursion at this batch do. The man is simply brilliant and reliable. read more

The Staff were Excellent very friendly and helpful I can't praise them enough .There was a good selection of food even for fussy eaters as some of my family are. the beach was great too, entry to the water was from their pier due to the coral reef extending the full length of the beach. the dive center was also top notch. I have no criticism. read more

I stayed at this hotel In October 2012 and June 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I went with a girlfriend for a week of relaxation and that's exactly what we got. The staff are amazing! Nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel room was clean and of a good size with a beautiful balcony overlooking the Red Sea - stunning!! The shower was good and the beds comfortable. The food was plentiful and freshly prepared. The free shuttle bus into Dahab is good or there are taxis to and from Dahab which are very inexpensive. We spent ... a week of doing absolutely nothing and were looked after superbly! We did not want to leave and have booked up again for September 2013! It's great value for money! All in all, a great place to go for an all inclusive holiday, stunning location, great staff and lovely food - well done - five gold stars from me!! read more

Tropitel Oasis Dahab - Oct 2012 Family 2 week holiday

Four of us, me and my partner and his 2 teenage girls, had 2 double rooms for a couple of weeks in October. This was the first time for the kids but the 3rd time for us at the Tropitel.
The beach is kept very clean and free from litter - in stark and depressing contrast to the coast all around. The pool area is relaxing and quiet, the pool bar staff very helpful, polite and friendly.
The food was buffet - all inclusive - and bearing in mind that this is a desert region fairly remote from the nearest ... big cities, the food was fresh and well prepared. The kitchen is clean and none of us, even the fussy eater, suffered any ill effects from the food.
The room was pleasant and clean - don't expect spotless brand new furnishings, this is Egypt but the beds were very clean and comfortable and the room servicing was excellent.
Downsides were that the 18 year old suffered a low level of unwanted attentions from the male staff, the Spa staff were pushy in trying to get people to purchase treatments and there was a bit too much hard sell of trips when you just want to be left alone at the pool.
Other than that, I would highly recommend the Tropitel and we will definitely be going again. read more
