A very extensive and nevertheless quiet hotel complex with 3 hotels. All furnishings can be used. Large botanical garden with lots of small corners to withdraw. 2 indoor and 3 outdoor pools. Direct view of the sea! All rooms have view of the sea and balcony. Great kitchen. Different restaurants of buffet to à-la-carte, it is something for everyone. 5 minutes to highway, 20 minutes to to the airport in Santa Cruz. Very friendly friendly and accommodating staff with very good foreign languages skills. Child-friendly hotel. Mini golf course, small playground, spa area. You don't need more! read more

We have already been the 2. time in the Eden Mar and were once again very satisfied. Hotel staff very nice and friendly. There is always someone in german language approachable. Clean and attractive studios. Hotel area and extensive gardens with a lot of green, flowers, palm trees, banana trees, orchid gardens, very attractive. Good traffic connections in every direction the island. Shuttle bus of the hotel runs several times into the city. Driver very polite and courteous. We will definitely again the flower festival and new year's eve there again. read more

A very good hotel with beautiful garden- and pool area. Food very good, the food is but for the most part. British (vegetables little peppered). Sausage- and käsevielfalt for breakfast with a week stay rather boring. Guests should be 8., no spar tip -room to choose, because then a room to the street (rather loud by residents' traffic) threaten. Thanks to the friendly front desk employee we could but in a different room move. Rooms are large, facilities (flat screen in the closet) a bit hard to get used to. Madeira in december: yes, definitely, daily breakfast in the open! Warning due to dengue fever in Funchal: we (daily) with anti- brumm rubbed and remained exempted. Hotel really recommendable, very good food. Staff always helpful and very friendly. The hotel-own bus drives several times daily directly in front of the hotel to Funchal and back, of course free of charge. The golf courses palheiro and santo were empty, times thus not a problem. The hotel is 30% discount on the green fees and offers additionaly a free shuttle to the two golf courses at. The pick up to and from ... the courses worked well. The hotel guests all in the best age, many hikers and people who want to relax, english, spanish, german, no russians. For geniesser: every friday there was next to lots of tasty fish and meat dishes, fresh oysters, we have not yet seen. Completely wonderful relaxing vacation in a really recommendable hotel. read more

We were the 2. time in one of the three Porto Bay-hotels, the one related complex about 2.5 kilometer above Funchal include (Eden Mar, the residence and Porto Mare, all four stars). We had booked a suite (number 2344) and were very satisfied with the 2 bathrooms and the other size of the suite (sea view to a nice pool side). Firstly, it was a suite on the 3. floor allocated, which, however had a sea view and laterally direction of the melia hotel, not so nice. We complained and were given a nicer suite in a central location ... of the hotel. We had ' half board plus' booked, so that a drink per person during dinner was inclusive and thus were no costs arose (0.5 liters house wine or soft drinks amongst others). The service in the hotel is perfect in every way and would certainly also a 5. deserve any stars! We were already often guest in a 5 star hotel and the service of the Porto Mare, as well as the facilities and the quality were excellent. read more

We were 6 years ago in this hotel. It is no wishes flying accrued. The german speaking staff are more. The hotel was of me known recommended, the also loved. Who relaxed vacation in a well-kept atmosphere loves, is in the right place here. New year's eve fireworks in Funchal: atemberaubent, gigantic, unique. Celebrates at the port with the locals. They are so good, that is infectious. In short: Madeira, Funchal and the Hotel Porto mare are for any time of the year worth a trip. read more
