After staying in several hotels in the Giza area this is possibly my favourite. Mercure is a chain of 3 and 4 star hotels and I would say this one is solid 4 star. If travel companies sell it as a 5 start then they are incorrect. Staff service is generally excellent with frindly smiles at reception and restaurants. The a la carte restaurant is better than the buffet area which is slightly over priced for the offerings. At present the occupancy is around 30% so there are good deals available on web sites. read more

This hotel due to its good location and also the rooms are for a city hotel really very well equipped. Breakfast buffet was all right. It was the possibility in one of the many restaurants in the hotel moderate food.

the hotel lies within walking distance, only 10 to 15 minutes away from Pyramids. If you don't want to walk, can one of the taxis used, the always in front of the hotel is possible.
unfortunately, in the hallways and the restaurants of the hotel smoking. The smoke pull in the rooms, we found that most unpleasant. For smokers safe a dream!
the hotel international audience, who racism experienced experience-not all Arab/Muslim guests rather, we say it carefully, reserved treated.
Into the town center you can get cheap with the taxi (don't forget to bargain) read more

We had booked this hotel for three days. The location of the view to the pyramids is very good. Generally, the hotel and garden the area as well. In the evening at the bar there were pleasant music. The staff is very friendly. The food was tasty, unfortunately, not so good. A minus was the room: we had asked for a quiet room, as the hotel is located directly on a noisy street. The room was on the ground floor, with a small outdoor area, in about three meters away from this there is a high wall. It was the ... room very dark, there were no sun and cold. A shame. read more

pleasant hotel. Already getting a bit old, but for a stay in a large city at the outer periphery perfect. Especially recommendable is a room in the back part of the estate with view on the garden. The pyramids you will see during sleep, but it is considerable much quiet as right in front of the street.
the cleanliness was OK if you request, that we here in Cairo and not in a European city. But it was really OK. Bed sheets and towels were clean, dishes was clean, general impression was maintained. read more

The Sofitel is located about 1 kilometer former from the entrance to the pyramids in Giza without the gastronomic variety of cairo to offer. To eat, you must go to one of the four hotels down called the hotel. We have treated us the Mena house oberoi posh for dinner and the only can recommend. Sleep well in the Mena house with Nobel Mercure and direct view on the pyramids food or drink simply only coffee.
Contrary to some other reviews we were with the Mercure hotel very satisfied, since we knew before we have booked the situation.
The location ... is at the pyramids next to the about 500 metres of beach, Le Meridien and in front of the Mövenpick and about 800 m-1 kilometer from the Mena house oberoi and the entrance to the pyramids away. We are there to foot, what quite interesting was, all five SEC honking taxis but otherwise one is more or less left in peace.
The lobby is modern with a touch from the Mercure by Orient furnished and very well maintained and spacious. It is also 2.3 small shops. In the spacious Lobbyt is also the guest Roni Che area, where the breakfast is served, and a buffet for 155 Egyptian Pound per person is offered. The breakfast had a very good selection and good quality, the dinner buffet have we not used.
The room have we us a pyramid view room we had booked and didn't have a balcony but the view on 1 pyramid, what very beautiful was. It was very spacious and modern furnished. TV with many German channels. The bathroom was very modern furnished. The furniture were something bestossen and cleanliness was not necessarily the German standard but for Ägpyten certainly very good.
In the well-kept garden it is a very nice pool, playground and walking paths.
All in all the Mercure is a good four star hotel with a good price/performance ratio (88 room including breakfast for the pyramids). The location is for the Pyramdienbesichtigung top and also to the light and sound show is it with the taxi not far. The city center is about 15 to cairo 20 kilometer away. We would always again for the pyramids it (also sakkara) and then in the Hilton Kario may change to the downtown attractions to visit. read more

It is former Sofitel le Sphinx to the, directly with view on the pyramids in Giza. The is but also has the most positive, what can you say about the hotel. Otherwise the location is bad. It is only a few restaurants in the vicinity. Otherwise only streets. One is almost on the hotel with its five star prices dependent, though the hotel with good will has three star rating. The new management has apparently by the not amended. It is still very overpriced. the staff is bored and rude. The service and the cleanliness left to be desired. Only ... way to break the to, are juicy drinking money payments. Just beautiful is also still the restaurant roof terrace, with view on the pyramids also. Here it is at night. Negative were again the prices, in the budget again shed the analogous to the cities of the world is. All in all a nicer hotel in a location select, where you also to foot out can. read more

It should be a hotel with five star, but so it was not.
The room was very small and had also no balcony. We have us in cairo held only three days on, but you could have expected a little in size of the room and a balcony.
In the vicinity of the hotel are no shopping possibilities. We had it so, as we it closer to the pyramids have wanted.
We arrived but everywhere cheap with the white TAXI'S back. As a tourist only the white taxi's use, because only with a meter you are allowed. Have paid for ... a distance of 35 kilometer after cairo city six euro.
Egyptian museum, on all the photo's wish, as you will disappointed, you had to hand the cameras and must without purely.
On the whole was for us a single large adventure cairo. read more

The hotel offers only, due to its location. Cleanliness and friendliness you mostly in vain. The room was dark and the furniture worn. The carpet needed a thorough cleaning. The bathroom was newly renovated, the size is OK.
The journey from the airport with the taxi took about a hour.
The pyramids are basically in front of the door. read more
